I been on thecoli/SOHH since 2007--15 years, b.
I was in college and I used to get new music from new artists on SOHH, the blog era, MySpace.
Pac Div, Cool Kids, Curren$y, that first Kid Cudi tape was amazing, I remember the first time learning about Jay Electronica, etc., etc.
Now, all ya'll do is cry about "violence in music" ("RAP IS CRAP") or it's the same artists being posted...I'm tried of it

This take is silly, why would it be an issue if someone only listens artists 10 yrs in the game? I only see this as a problem if they are blatantly hating and refusing to give the new generation at least a chance. I feel like we have this ageism only when it comes to hip-hop music. Cant think of other genres like r&b that have this problem.
I personally listen to both current & old, there is some trash in both eras but once you find what you like its

This site is definitely an older crowd that loves to hate on newer artists and their music. Just look at the threads related to someone like Yeat.
But if you want people to talk about newer music you can go to sites like KTT2. However its the exact opposite over there where they'll call you a boomer or some shyt for listening to old shyt. You also cant talk underground shyt like Eddie Kane or Brownsville Ka without being called dusty.
I think theres nothing wrong with having different places to discuss different things. However I find that sites with younger crowds usually have way more shyt posting and trolling.

Do you not think there is a correlation between the degradation of the music and the demon/savage lifestyle glorification to children, and the Anti-kill kill kill rap movement that has been picking up a lot of steam here as of late? Do you think the people who aren't for the constant demonic messaging being shoved down children's mouths are just haters/kooons/cacs/sell-outs? As a rational, logical person, doesn't it seem more likely that the adults defending that sort of music and messaging are the actual kooons/cacs/sell-outs?

I know there's other music besides that...but you specifically mentioned the wave of people here who are pushing back and speaking out against that specific, dominant, style of hip hop...a.k.a. the "hate rap music" crowd.
These "demons" spreading this demon shyt are direct descendants of 50 Cent, imo...you notice most of them say he is their favorite/role model? Does 50 Cent being, arguably, the original demon time ass rapper excuse the current influx of them and the audience they're targeting with it being teens? At the time us 35+ was jackin 50 we were impressionable, lost babies too, that was over 20 years ago when his reign began...think about it. Now that we're older we'd be remiss not to speak on the dangers of idolizing that type shyt and consuming it 24/7 as a kid.
