Dividends are untaxed for £5k, 7.5% £5k-£45k, 32.5 45k-150k and 38% only applies once you've taken 150k. Nobody's paying 38% on their whole dividend unless they've got a £150k salary coming in from elsewhere... and if so, fukk 'em... they can afford it.

We also currently have to lowest rate of corporation tax in the G7 which the Tories are trying to take even lower... as they have done consistently since getting into power.

Nurses are visiting fukking food banks right now.

You already get taxed enough above £150k salary and now have to eat a 40% dividend. It was perfect at 10%.

Nobody said anything about corporate taxes ... Ireland has a lower corporate tax and so do some of the channel islands.

Agency nurses make £23-60 an hour and there is a nursing shortage. Who are these nurses on foodbanks ? I ran and sold a company in this space breh. I know a lot from regulations to the university drop out rates of student nurses so I'm not falling for this b.s.

You see how badly the NHS is mismanaged and this crypt dodger wants to nationalize more industries ?

The starting salary for a fully qualified nurse is only £22,000 a year mate. Agency nurses aren't the majority, plus there's no garuntee of consistent work as an agency nurse. Very easy to wind up in serious trouble if you have a family.

And trainee nurses make even less.

Urgent action needed to combat major UK nursing shortage, warns RCN | Royal College of Nursing

96 per cent of hospitals have nurse shortages, official figures show

I think it's stupid when politicians are asked hypothetical questions regarding horribly catastrophic situations that we should all pray nobody has to ever deal with

That blood lust though ... :picard:

You already get taxed enough above £150k salary and now have to eat a 40% dividend. It was perfect at 10%.

I've also run my own company and worked for some of the biggest and best paying corps too... I've been paid via dividend and PAYE... I can honestly say that however I've made my money, I have never begrudged a single penny of the tax I've paid. Makes me feel patriotic every time I get a chance to contribute to my country.

The NHS was great when we were all kids. What is it that's changed? It's been going slowly to shyt ever since, hmm, about 1979... and what've we had since then... Oh, both main parties have been yoked around a conservative economic consensus that created the mess of public/private partnerships that have left the NHS drowning in waste and lost money to Serco shareholder profits.

They still managed to save my girlfriend's life two weeks ago. Every single place u walked in the hospital nurses were praying for a Labour victory. So it's fukk people like you and me right now, I know what'd be best for ME - I earn well, have a mortgage and have never claimed a benefit... I bet the Tories could see me right for the next few years if they scrapped taxation altogether... but I'm not a fukking island. I'm in the top 5% of the country and the top 1% of the world - I have a basic human need due to not being a myopic psychopath to make sure the other 99% are listened to and given the same chances I get.

I also recently discovered a basic human need not to choose between bereavement and bankruptcy if a loved one collapses again. We're all only a couple of steps from being fukked if you give all the safety nets to Edward Scissorhands.
