They definitely don’t tell you how many hours of your life you have to work to pay for that house. Add up all the payments and taxes, and you’ll pay damn near double what you’ll tell people you paid for that house.

Lots of maintenance like basic cleaning, organization. If you have a repair to make that shyt can be stressful.

If you got a nice house you can get a lot of jealousy.

I gotta get some electrical work done...got the estimate and started contemplating an OnlyFans career.

Luckily, the owner before me was very stingy and cheap. He could have made little upgrades to this house and gotten so much more. I scoured restores and Facebook Marketplace... upgraded all the floors to hardwood and tile. It really wasn't hard...but BOY was it labor intensive.

The World, but from BK
Fam windows are so fukking expensive my god. We have the original windows for the house which are hand crank turn outs and they will need to be replaced at some point for the entire house. I just been fixing them as we go because I don’t wanna foot that bill atm lol. It would prolly be better to just do it though because it would be more energy efficient.
Yeah man, take care of it when you can. I lived with them rooms cold for 2 years, until I decided to do it. When buying the house it was fine because we got in inspected in like October so the temp was fine and mild. Then that December/January hit and I was mad as hell the inspector didn't point out that as a future issue. Of course the previous owners never mentioned it.

Yeah we had a fixed before at like 4.5. We refinanced in 2021 to like 2.5 because the rates were so crazy. Banks were basically begging to do it.
Yea a chick I work with was so desperate to get a house she didn’t read the fine print and her mortgage goes up like every or something until it’s paid off.

That's why people like condos. Cash out that 200k and rent until the market stabilizes. Then when u ready to buy get brand new.

All of the little new bills that add up. Just found out the house as a leak between our main line water supply and the city connection. shyt is 4k to fix. Last year we had issues with the septic and switched to city waste. shyt was 15k. Between that and all the regular maintenance sometimes I wanna go back to renting lol. We've gained over 200k in equity since the pandemic but those gains aren't really seen unless we sell. Anybody else kinda regret buying?

Equity while nice doesn't mean much unless we plan to sell anytime soon. With the current market it wouldn't be the best for that. My house being worth more don't mean much unless I'm trying to use it for leverage which I'm not at the moment.
You could say that about any investment though… assuming, of course, you look at your house as an investment and not just a place to live. And while it’s not as easy to liquidate as say stocks, its much more reliable.

This is old constuction/out in the country/boonies based but applies to new houses as well.

Avoid chimneys. All it does is add another point for leaks. The tar around the flashing is gonna crack long before you have to redo your roof and you're gonna walk past that bytch one day and see a water spot developing. Will cause wood rot in the areas surrounding it as well.

If you have trees in your yard and they're close to your house cut them shyts down before you start building or while they're small. All they're gonna lead to is you having to pick up a fukk ton of leaves and possibly causing roof moss to develop.

Avoid putting a hill drop off near your house. A hill is just going to be shyt tier for grass growing and if you get plenty of rain it's just going to cause erosion. The god damn gas line was starting to show due to rain washing away the dirt over the years.

Invest in a pressure washer. Not only is it good for cleaning outside of your house, if your kitchen drain pipe ever gets backed up you can use it to snake the pipe and clear the grease and other build up. Get as high a psi as you can afford.

Get plumber's tape and put those on all your water hoses, nozzles, and pressure washer connections. Will save you time with having to twist them shyts off and it gives your nozzle 360 degrees of motion so you don't have to mess with the hose. Speaking of hoses avoid them shyts that shrink and get you a commercial/contractor grade hose.

If you have vents on the gables of your house put mesh over them. Bats set up shop in our attic by flying in the vents.

fukk the Orkin man for anything other than termite inspection. Get you a backpack sprayer, go on domyown.com Buy a bag of Talstar grandules, and some Suspend SC or Tempo SC. They got videos to show you how to mix the shyt. Put the Suspend or Tempo in your backpack spray and 6-8 inches up the side of your house and 6-8 inches out from your house.

Once your mower gets old them batteries not gonna hold charge for shyt so buy yourself a BatteryMINDer 1510 to keep the battery charged during the cold months. You can use it for motorcycles, car batteries, or anything else. Also do not jump start your mower battery. You can fukk up the stator and cause the mower to not hold charge at all. Replacing that bytch is a chore as well.

You nikkas 6 cert 6 figure nikkas probably won't bother with this but buy an air compressor and a tire repair kit. Obviously you can just take it to a tire shop and have them pull the nail/screw but it's a great option to save you some shillings and keep your tires air pressure topped off.
Green tire slime is a good option for lawn mower tires if they get slack on you.

Obviously you need to research to see if it fits your shyt but if your dryer is not coming it's most likely the door switch that's broken. on or cutting off before your clothes are completely dry you can buy a cheap ass kit like this and fix it yourself.

Buy one of those big bottles of hand soap for toilet clogs so you don't have fukk around with a stankin ass plunger. Poor the hand soap in the toilet let it settle for like 30 seconds or so and flush. Should clear the clog on the first try. If not do it again.

Electrical is not DIY. Get a professional to do it. Unless it's some super basic damn near fool proof shyt like a light bulb, light switch, programming a garage door opener remote, or a dryer, be on the safe side and don't fukk with it.
