Why should there be a rule?

Why can't these owners and GM's just be good enough at their job to make sure the player signs after he says he signs?

And what is "bullshyt" about it...

Being able to change your mind is "bullshyt"?:dahellwhat:

Sorry, are you intentionally being stupid?

That's why the moratorium period should go. Sign when you've made up your mind.

Because that will be impossible to enforce. Besides, the league only allows "negotiations" not actual agreements
Why cant the league just finish their audits before free agency begins? Or delay free agency by a week if need be?

Because of the draft. The moratorium is just to do that, but I guess the league would rather not ban people from linking up and taking to each other, so that week is just so it can happen without a written agreement

This happened before though...when Turkoglu said he'll sign with the Blazers but went to the Raptors instead.

I didn't really mind since I didn't want him on the Blazers anyway.

OK, regardless of whether there is a direct precedent, the rule is stupid and should be changed

I would expect it to be reviewed heavily since this is much higher profile

Isn't that what players do now? make up their mind on where to sign and then sign?

Aldridge met with multiple teams multiple times over multiple days...and then made up his mind to sign with SA...

99% of all other free agents did what LMA did...

So why would you change the rule?

Deandre made up his mind...or was convinced...to sign with Dallas...

Then after thinking it over...he decided he might not want to play in Dallas...he might want to play in LA...

shyt happens...

But now because it happens to an owner, rules gotta change :heh:

Its whatever though like I said...Deandre isn't doing anything illegal. Ethically you can debate that...

Iggy never committed to be fair .. so not exactly the same situation

I dont think its a good thing regardless of whether its a player/team pulling back, its stupid and easily fixable either way

Agreed that it's fixable..but read the ESPN link I posted...Iggy tweeted about that and seemed pretty pissed that it was pulled so quick.
