It don't matter how many nikkas was in it. Since when has a rap battle not expanded to more people? I can't think of a single one that didn't.
In a battle, it actually does :mjlol:

Thats why Parrapa the Rappa ass nikkas only battle in 1v1’s. These nikkas put out like 12 songs together :mjlol:

literally no one, didn't u read the thread title?

also, drake didn't retire. he released and album this year and multiple singles
I did, didn’t you catch the sarcasm?

I know he didn’t, I don’t check for his music unless it’s a major mainstream hit.

It goes back to my point.. nikkas got him out the paint, so his influence on RAPPERS making mainstream HITS that require thought and musical presence has jumped off the cliff.

And since Kendrick only makes music every 5 years, and only starts beef with any nikkas when he is about to sell tracks, has disappeared again the void has been filled with the garbage on the radio now.

meh, hip hop will be fine. it's not 1988 anymore. Rappers don't necessarily need billboard to get there music out there. :manny:

Apparently it might not, didn’t you read the title?

Hiphop (mainstream) is basically dead. And all the billboard does is show how much people like their music. Nobody likes this shyt like they used to.

Stats don’t lie

1. You’re in here caping for a Canadian actor turned Pop Rap studio gangster.

:francis:

2. I’m glad Hip Hop is moving away from what “everyone” likes. Hip Hop used to be coded language for a certain group of people and as soon as the Drakes of the world heard it, they became fascinated with a life they were FAR removed from and tainted it with their interpretation of an authentic street level culture.

:camby:

It was never for them or about them.

This and all previous versions of hip-hop from Westcoast to Boom Bap are played out otherwise they’d be poppin right now.

Someone needs to come up with a new sound, only downside is it’d get copied ASAP and saturated.

The last part is the problem and I’ve said it many times on here. It’s way too easy to make music today. If you have a computer you have access to all the multimillion dollar instruments and equipment studios are full of right inside your laptop.

It was crazy to be able to play the exact same instrument on my computer that sooo many of my favorite songs from the 80’s and 90’s was made with (Yamaha DX-7). You know how much it used to cost to afford these instruments?

Everyone can do this now if they have a laptop rather than only a handful of people having access to sophisticated, expensive instruments.

Music in general and “playing with sounds” is saturated, period.

I agree with this. I've been saying this for awhile. Technology will continue to make it even easier with A.I. now.

Exaaactly. I said it was way too easy to make good sounding, high quality music a few years ago, before A.I.

Now with A.I? Shiiiiiiet.

Additionally, the intrigue is gone. Musicmakers with the collection of instruments/gear aren’t rare anymore because it’s all on laptops now and anyone can make music. Don’t got to save thousands dollars anymore to buy rare equipment and be “that guy”. Simply buy a laptop and download sounds, VSTs and Emulators to get a world of musical instruments that are literally able to theoretically make any sound in the world.
