Brady by far. Montana played with a hof running back and hof wr, arguably the best wr of all time. Brady elevated bums making household names out of midget cacs like edleman.

I also strongly believe Montana would be swarmed in today's NFL. The rule changes don't mean anything most of those players in the 70s and 80s were just big, fat coke heads and alcoholics. You can't compare the athleticism in today's NFL, these dudes are savages. I don't believe Montana would even make the playoffs , today's athletes are just so much better

Another thing, Brady needs to be given credit for shutting down Peyton manning year after year in the afc . Peyton should have at least 4 rings but everytime he went against Brady he choked and Tom came through in the clutch. Steel sharpens steel

Boy stop talking. Also, Tom lost 3 Super Bowls with greatest coach in sports. But you’re going to shyt on Peyton who didn’t have that level of coaching. Also Peyton’s career cut short by injury while Tom had rules made for him. What happened to Mike Vanderjagt? Thought so. Vinateri still playing.

They forget Brady was a game manager his first few Super Bowls. That NE D was full of studs and playmakers. He was on the sidelines as his HOF kicker won games. He was not the Brady we see now. He had no defining play like Joe did.
Once again, didnt you say Brady was the GOAT in the Superbowl 51 thread? But youre here singing a different song?? Brady set his kicker up for those fgs. While John Madden was saying play for OT, he masterfully got them into field position. He was a game manager in 01, in 2002 he led the league in td passes, was 6th in yds and threw the ball over 600 times. In 03, he started getting real good with his deep ball and he was 3rd in MVP voting. He also threw 354 yds and 3 tds as his defense gave up 29 pts in 20 mins of game time. His HOF kicker missed 2 fgs that game. Their run game was ranked 29th that year. Whats more valuable a QB throwing 354 yds, 3tds, tying the rec for most completions and controlling the ball for 40 mins or a kicker who went 1/3 on fga?

The 5 yard penalty reinforcement rule was changed because of Peyton. Are you serious?? Bill Walsh wasnt a phenomenal coach? Montana didnt get benched in a home playoff game.when an 8-7 Vikings team tapped that ass?? Since it wasnt the.Superbowl, it doesnt count.

So because Joe failed to get to the SB as much as Brady he gets bonus points?:mjlol:

What generational teams did Tom have to go through? NFC was hell back in the day. Name a team on the level of the Cowboys that Tom had to deal with? Then there were the Skins and Giants. Much easier path for Tom Tom.

When Joe got there he won 100% of the time. Tom....60% of the time.

I was talking about Peyton vs Tom. Jesus Christ.

I could just as easily knock Brady for losing to a backup if you wanna go there.

Caught up in the moment. Given time to reflect...he's not my GOAT. Brady stans reaching Kobe stan levels. The excuses yall make for Brady are things you'd use to shyt on his peers (ie: Peyton). Yall are sick.

the nfc won 13 straight sbs during montana's time. what does that tell you? The nfc championship was basically the SB back then. No team was dominating the nfc because it was the superior conference. How hard is that to understand? Your not going to make the SB every year when your going against all time great teams like the 85 bears 86 giants and so forth.

So if Dee Dee Ford doesn’t line up offsides then Brady isn’t the goat but now he is?

These hot takes about QB’s after gamea is the dumbest sh1t ever. Marino is the greatest qb I’ve ever seen and has no rings

Brady is not the greatest qb I’ve seen not by far but he is the most accomplished and is great at what he does in the Bellichek system.

I’ve been a fan since I’ve seen how calm and cool he was in his early years at the end of games. To say he’s not the goat and there are better qb’s then him is in no way sh1tting on him or diminishing his accomplishments

But to say he’s even close to the greatest talent at qb I’ve ever seen would be a huge lie.

Let's do a thought experiment, if you put montana's 49ers circa 1981-1990 in the AFC how many SBs would they had appeared in and how many wins would they have?

for sake of argument, the 49ers won the SB as the best in the league in 81,84, 88 89 so that's 4 already. Now let's look at the rest of the years

1982 - strike shortened season the 49ers went 3-6- and missed the playoffs, let's keep them missing the playoffs this year in the AFC
1983 - the 49ers lost to the nfl champion redskins on the road after being down 24-0 and lost 24-21 on a bad call. Let's say they meet on a neutral field..... then what?
1985 - the bears would've beaten the 49ers in the SB
1986 - the giants would've beaten the 49ers in the SB
1987 - redskins again on a neutral field anything could happen
1990 - 49ers/ Giants again does montana still get hurt does craig still fumble?

had montana played in the inferior AFC he could've been 6-2 in SBs or 4-4 in sbs. is that better than 4-0 while playing tougher competition to make it to the SB?

Nobody is complaining, just stating facts. QBs are way more protected now than they were in the 80s. If you don't think that leads to lengthier careers fine, but it's pretty obvious that it does. Peyton Manning had his best statistical season at age 37. Drew Brees will probably finish second in MVP voting and he's old too.

Those are facts so what do you want.. :manny: these QB's are not taking the kind of hits that previous era QBs were taking.

Exactly, it's a different league now and to ignore that is to ignore reality.

They said almost 50% of Tom Brady's career wins came against the Bills, Dolphins and Jets. 3 of the most historically bad franchises in the last 20yrs. Being in the AFC East means you win only 2 games and you are in the Super Bowl. :hubie:

You do realize the AFC been better than the NFC in Super Bowls during the Brady/Beli Years?

That kills your entire premise.

If tom brady was 8-0 in SBs you would be correct. so that means he's been losing in SBs multiple times.
