ah the points-based system...gotcha

yeah that would have worked

how d'you rank those who never receive votes though

let's say we end with with 3/4 players out the 10 without receiving votes

my idea was to get the order from 10-1, but there are flaws with this method. You just have to trust peoples' polling integrity lol
I think you did it right to nail it down to 10, but then it should have been a point system after.

Lebron has 3FMVPs and Kobe only 2, 4 regular season MVPs to 1 etc; Look at their career stats and individual accomplishments and come back to us.
Also, we can play your little petty game of what ifs all day long. Steph didnt choke, Cleveland guards him very well. Dray played in games 3, 6 and 7 and before the respective games, you claimed that GSW was going to win anyway. Now that you lost like a punk ass, you move the posts. Lebron torched them in a near 1-man show last season and but ran out of gas because of the short rotation. Ray Allen played for MIA and he was supposed to make that 3pt shot because he was open, Lebron and Chalmers were also open and there was more than enough time for Ray to have passed the ball back to them to take the open 3 shot; Are you suggesting that Lebron should have attempted the shot and then gone to the other side of the court by himself to grab the rebound and attempt the 3 again? Its 5 v 5 and every player on the caught is supposed to make plays. Also, who brought the Heat back from that huge deficit in that same game? Who lit up the Spurs in the title clintching game?
Horry made tons of shots for San Antonio and the Lakers. Without Shaq, Kobe only has 2 championships. Derek Fischer, Ron Artest, Gasol etc made key plays in the finals. Steve kerr, John Paxston made key plays for the Bulls and SA.

Dude Lebron actually choked and MISSED the three pointer vs Spurs he took in the closing moments.. That's why every1 says Ray Allen bailed him out. He missed the big shot down the stretch and then had to count on a missed kawhi leanord free throw, followed by a bosh rebound due to Duncan bein on the bench, followed by a ray Allen three .. It was the perfect storm of events that redeemed lebrons huge miss. Big difference to what u comparing in the John Paxson three etc where that happened by execution, not sheer luck.

Any1 who brings up MVPs in this debate automatically loses, cuz then u sayin Steve Nash > Kobe .... Greatness is not measured in MVPs, it's measured in championships and overall basketball skill .. U put Kobe in the east, how many more MVPs and titles does he have? I can't say for sure, but it's definitely more than he has now... That's why we measure these things in CONTEXT if we just went by individual accolades, then there would be no need to debate these things.

So you say Wade was better than Lebron based solely off of Finals stats but say finals stats don't matter when saying Kobe was the sidekick and 2nd option on the Shaq led Lakers?

Actually, Kobe was the better player during the more competitive western conference playoffs

Didn't Scoop Jackson pick Kobe to lead the Lakers out of the west in 2005 after Shaq left? :wtf:

This is like when foxnews calls itself moderate and says every other network is slanted.

I don't care who he picked, what he said about espn's bias is spot on .. AND HE WORKS FOR THEM

Kobe let Shawn Marion get an offensive rebound and he let Tim Thomas get a wide open 3 in an almost identical situation.

Shawn Marion is a better rebounder than Kobe ..... That was inevitable, kobes big on that team was kwame brown ...... Duncan is a far better rebounder than bosh, thus shoulda been in the game at that moment to secure the final rebound.....also, Kobe didn't miss the big shots down the stretch like Lebron did, before Ray bailed him out .. Huge difference.

I agree that there may be an issue with voting this way...but you just have to hope people vote for their genuine pick rather than eliminating someone to help proceedings based on poll results

but what is the purpose of voting top 2?

You should jus scrap this entire thing, because it's just tarnishing the colis reputation

what is up with these coli posters and this "new math" bullshyt they're on.

Lebron is not 3-7 in the finals, he's 3-4 in the finals. SMH

And larry legend is 4th not 7th

Its pathetic. They write it that way to make it look bad. The people who say LeBron is 3/7 never write that Kobe is 5/7, they say 5-2 because it looks nicer. I guess I can't blame them, putting Kobe into these discussions requires a lot of window dressing.

Kobe airballed a shot at the buzzer that would have won the series.
