Games take like 3-6 years now to complete. A 3 year life cycle makes no sense.
Nah, do you even realize the flaw in that response? The consoles are operating differently now. With your logic graphics cards and no gaming hardware on the PC won't be constantly refreshed either.

This is the path we are heading and people will have to decide if this is what they are cool with or move on.

It's only march and can't wait for E3.

The thing you guys have to realize is that MS and Sony approached last gen completely differently than this gen.

Last gen, it was about having the powerhouse console. Remember all the hype about the cell processor in the PS3? It was a big deal. This gen, both companies didn't want to have to take a loss on hardware for 3 years, WHILE also releasing a console at $600, so they went with a cheap AMD apu that didn't push the envelope, at all. That's why this gen of hardware doesn't have the apparent lasting power of last gen... the hardware was already old before it was even released.

I'm salty about paying another $1000 for both updated consoles (given a $500 price tag for both), but I really shouldn't be. I pay more than that in GPUs for my PC every other year. I guess it's the wave of the future. I figure GameStop will have a "trade your old ps4/X1 for half off the new version" shyt like they did with the n3DSXL. So I guess I'll only be out $500.

$500 for 2 updated systems (I'm still skeptical that they'll be 4K, but whatever...) ain't that bad :manny:

prepare for a crash if these companies think 3 year console cycles are sufficient. Consoles don't even really get great games until midway in year 2 and beyond. If they think this is a wise course of action, they might as well turn their machines into pre-built pcs and go 'service oriented'

Gamestop will likely give $200 towards the new console. Considering after fees and shyt you have to deal with on ebay that is a pretty good deal :manny:

Yup...exactly.
Probably a day 1 upgrade for me.

What is strange is that the uncharted limited edition ps4 seems a bit pointless right now, why buy that shyt unless its the PS4K inside the same form factor? :ohhh:

Does anyone know if Cerny is overseeing this shyt? I haven't heard anything from that guy in a while.

Lol PS4K if real wouldn't drop until late this year or next year. Uncharted drops in practically a month.
