If I have to work cross country, or my office locally, it’s on the company dime. But, I work all the time, except when I tell my boss I’m not working.

t-dot till they bury me
Nope

Doesn’t matter where tf I reside, anything more than a 2 hour both ways combined is on the employee.

I just spent one hour waiting at a gate.. I should be compensated for that time.

But there should be some kind of incentive if WFH is such a problem to incorporate.
I should've been more clear. I'm not an employer :hubie:

What I'm saying is that employers, if they choose to pay for travel costs/time, may put in stipulations as part of their employment contract outlining conditions of them paying for transportation costs (ie. Employee must live within '×' mileage of the reporting location)

Especially since these geezers are against WFH.
This is the best argument

If you're going to intentionally not allow us to work from home knowing full well it is viable, then you are essentially making us drive to go to work, knowing full well affordable and available housing near the actual office is hard to find

You're also making spend money on gas and potential auto repairs that I shouldn't have to

If that's the case, you gotta pay up. Double the hourly rate for commute time.

I was actually compromising in that post

Because it’s way worse. If there is some kind of WFH policy it is better for the business. Every second you’re on the road you’re in an increase of danger and stress. If they do not want to allow people to WFH then allow them to get paid for the additional time needed to come into the office.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:

They better relocate to those workers where they actually live at. They have to readjust to the new norms.
Yeah, it’s just that easy. I’m sure there are plenty of commercially zoned properties all over the place. Going into more debt is no problem at all.

But why pay an American to work from home when you can pay someone overseas to do the same thing for half the price. Or why pay 5 people to work from home when you can pay 2 people to do the same thing.

If they outsource those jobs, America would be a 3rd world country OVERNIGHT. Plus the timezones thing and the language barrier would kill any form of quality control.

Plus Gen Z ain't with the working exploitation shyt. Face it, worker morale and worker productivity is just better when people at home working.

A lot of businesses depend on people going to work. If offices close, so will a lot of businesses.
So if WFH is not possible then it’s not possible

But I’m talking IT, business admin, etc.. motherfukkers who just sit in offices all day should be off the road.

Like I literally sat in my car an additional hour because of traffic right outside the building…

Now I have to stay later to make that time back then go home with another hour highly possibly
