The Truth
If they outsource those jobs, America would be a 3rd world country OVERNIGHT. Plus the timezones thing and the language barrier would kill any form of quality control.

Plus Gen Z ain't with the working exploitation shyt. Face it, worker morale and worker productivity is just better when people at home working.
They not gonna outsouce shyt because of bad IT skills and language barriers…

They already tried that shyt to in the early and mid 2000’s…

shyt a company I used to work at had foreign businesses outsourced to us instead..

This is the best argument

If you're going to intentionally not allow us to work from home knowing full well it is viable, then you are essentially making us drive to go to work, knowing full well affordable and available housing near the actual office is hard to find

You're also making spend money on gas and potential auto repairs that I shouldn't have to

If that's the case, you gotta pay up. Double the hourly rate for commute time.
If you don’t like it then quit. There are plenty of people that don’t mind getting up and leaving the house to go to work. You act like the world owes you something. You’re an EMPLOYEE. You’re disposable. Don’t nobody owe you nothing.

What is their age range? What is their family situation like?

When I was a consultant I got reimbursed by the mile, only time I actually desired a long ass commute. Getting paid an extra $500+ a month to sit in my car and listen to podcasts and Curren$y/Wiz mixtapes :ohlawd:

I'm WFH now tho, fill my tank like once a month :sas1:

This is something one of those geezers would say

He could quit and go right back to the competition

Pretty soon, only people not going to be WFH and going to an office on going to be jobs for people who have no home life or ones new to the field desperate to get a foot in the door. Thats going to equal to bad service, low experience, bad security, and high-turnaround.

Company is going to be a nightmare to work at

People get up too early in the morning just to waste a great chunk of life spending 40-1hr worth of time going to and from an office…

Especially since these geezers are against WFH.

Depending on your distance from home, you should get 2 hours extra pay, or get in your vehicle abd use an app to clock in and track your route

How would you solve the fact that some people choose to travel hours while others choose to live close to work

If they believe a company would just outsource important services then :yeshrug:

I’m telling you, they tried that before most likely. If outsourcing was that big then they wouldn’t even have to fire anyone because there wouldn’t be no need

That doesn’t matter. What does matter is that it’s enough. If your job got posted and 100 people applied, they only need to find one willing to come into the office.

You might live an hour away, but there’s an applicant that lives 15 minutes away. Competition for good paying jobs is fierce out here. And companies know that. It’s the service and labor sectors that struggle to fill positions.

I don’t like working in an office. But then again, I don’t like working for companies in general. My job is 60% travel and I work from home the other 40% of the time because I don’t have a home office. A lot of zoom, and Microsoft teams calls.

Working from home sucks, because I’m not as productive. And it makes me realize I don’t like being an employee even in an upper management role.
