No it's not. Each state has it's Dept of Education that set it's curriculum.

All the Fed DoE did was basically make sure they didn't do shyt like spend more funds in affluent areas than in poor areas.

this is the issue with these convos lol we can't really examine actual implications or how things work due to who is pulling the trigger. The US Education system has failed Black Boys, so one could make an argument of us needing to destroy the system that has failed these boys. Speaking as an adult, I know for certain that the vast majority of adults are in no way qualified to teach homeschool. I say this because teaching is not only a skill but you have to actually know what the fukk it is you are teaching. I don't have kids but I do know for certain that I am in no way qualified to take a child under my wing and teach them everything they need to know from K-12 and I'm willing to bet that damn near 100% of parents aren't either.
Standards for homeschooling will no doubt almost completely disappear. Generations of retards will begin flooding society and the workforce in 18 years. I wonder what name the generation that first comes up post Dept. of Ed. will be given. Homers?

The importance of the DOE is barely about "results" it's about preventing certain states from going rogue. Do I need to remind you why it we HAD to remove education from purely state control? There are certain states that will use this to create education disparities between certain classes/racial groups (vouchers, defunding poor perfoming schools), push religion into public schools, ban any books or curriculums making white Americans look bad, etc....making this about "results" in education is disengiuous at best. The DOE exist as a protection against ill-intent states, and that's the reason they want it gone. Look how the Republicans obey trump like puppy dogs. Trump will 100% direct states to push certain bullshyt and then say "well....can't do anything, it's within state control"

See how dishonest these people are? Republicans have constantly sabotaged the Department of Education (among other federal agencies), leaving it up to Democrats to repair things, but it's never fully made whole. Then, when the damage manifests, they turn around and blame Democrats for the mess they created. The DOE has been underfunded, attacked, and undermined for decades, and now we're supposed to pretend it's some isolated failure of "Democratic governance"? Give me a fukking break. Republicans gut institutions, obstruct progress, and then act like neutral observers when these agencies struggle to function effectively.
