I wish a reporter would ask the logic behind this and the "Gold Card"/H1B1 shyt.... I mean out the gate, they were shytting on American competency and saying we need to bring in better educated foreigners, yet they're sending all power for said education back to the states... the fukk is a state like Mississippi finna do to get their shyt up to global competitive standards :comeon:
Simple it’s to pay for the tax cuts for the wealthy that he wants.

This is illegal, will be blocked or undone.
trump is also counting on the fact that the average trump supporter is so stupid, they think he actually eliminated it today

he can just tell them it's gone, and they'll believe it. he doesn't even have to do anything else :dead:

let me tell you how this is gonna go:

some people are gonna complain about this, and the republicans are gonna post up a bunch of terrible education stats and DOE failures, and most people will shrug and not care

i'm just an observer :yeshrug:
Nah.

We are only in Trump year one.

Whatever the fallout of no DOE and which states are competent enough to fulfill the needs of funding hole will become evident before the Republicans or Democrats make it 2028 election.

Republicans were on Bush’s ass about Common Core standards after it was implemented.

See how dishonest these people are? Republicans have constantly sabotaged the Department of Education (among other federal agencies), leaving it up to Democrats to repair things, but it's never fully made whole. Then, when the damage manifests, they turn around and blame Democrats for the mess they created. The DOE has been underfunded, attacked, and undermined for decades, and now we're supposed to pretend it's some isolated failure of "Democratic governance"? Give me a fukking break. Republicans gut institutions, obstruct progress, and then act like neutral observers when these agencies struggle to function effectively.

This applies to all levels of government. They systematically fukk everything up and dems take the blame.

Do people really understand what they're trying to do here? They want to dismantle federal education protections, push private school vouchers, and let red states redirect *your tax dollars* away from low-income and disabled students. That's going to hit Black students the hardest, especially in the South, where Republican-led states already underfund public schools in majority-Black districts. Now, they'll have even more freedom to take away funds meant to support the most vulnerable students, and funnel it into private and religious schools that can pick and choose who they serve.

On top of that, they're stacking the DOE with America First Policy Institute operatives. Yes, this is the same group of people pushing Christian nationalism and book bans across the country. This is where the Republican-controlled Congress is supposed to step in, but they're shirking their duty because they agree with this agenda. All that "school choice" bullshyt was a ruse. It was always about defunding and destabilizing public education just so they can justify privatizing it.

kind of an indictment of the current DOE, no? :skip:

those are the kinds of trash results the Dems are supposed to go out and defend? good luck
yes and no

education is a culture

entertainment rules in America. any educated populace in a developed nation comes from a culture of education. and the culture supersedes the schools/facilities. that's why you can have brilliant students who learn with no electricity or running water around.

it's unfortunate that the Democrats have created a culture where government jobs and departments are completely unaccountable, and people just shrug at trash results. the DOE's results are objectively embarrassing, but you'll never catch a Democrat talking about accountability when they're in power
this is the other extreme :yeshrug:

but i thought trump can't actually do this, and he's just bluffing. i guess we'll find out
In a eliminating the Dept of Education thread you dedicate attention to Dems and praising DOGE.

Bad faith posting
