Right or wrong this goes to show how many hawks are really out there in the political landscape
We're not in Syria for oil.well, what's better for "troop morale"...their brothers dying for oil, or being home?
personally, I don't care about troop morale. These guys will be fine once we bring them home to their families where they belong. I can see an argument being made that the de-escalation is being done too hastily, but ultimately this is the right move. Stop the nation building and oil theft; bring our troops home. Stop killing brown people over black liquid.
So you're pretending we didn't go to Afghanistan to topple the Taliban after 9/11?so he's correcting the wrong action he made to raise the troop level. now it's at obama's level. ideally it would be even less
yeah im still not seeing where im wrong or inconsistent hereyou certainly couldn't provide examples of how the war in afghanistan serves average americans
Nah. The majority of the criticism is on how he's gone about it.Right or wrong this goes to show how many hawks are really out there in the political landscape
so you agree with republican chicken hawks on this issue. fair enough :jaymelo:We're not in Syria for oil.
But if you don't see the importance
So you're pretending we didn't go to Afghanistan to topple the Taliban after 9/11?
You're also pretending this wasn't extremely popular at the time.
Are you also disregarding that troops levels are also dictated by our commitments to NATO after dragging our allies into our vendetta?
You come across as generally selfish. So it doesn't surprise me you struggle with understanding alliances and not letting people you gave your were get slaughtered because fox News told you so and then failing to see the future impact that holds.
Instead you're on some, let's drag everyone to war and run off shyt.![]()
Considering most of the fighters in Syria are there on training missions...so you agree with republican chicken hawks on this issue. fair enough :jaymelo:
can't help but notice you wanted no parts of answering when the end point for this occupation is, but im not surprised
good, im tired of listening to you parrot lindsey grahamConsidering most of the fighters in Syria are there on training missions...
You know what. I'm going to listen to @acri1 and let you cook.![]()
Nah. The majority of the criticism is on how he's gone about it.
The problem here is we aren't heari g the discussions.Fair but there are plenty out there advocating to stay there at the current level of troops for an indefinite amount of time
At some point one has to realize that there simply may never be a good time to do this and you may as well rip the bandaid off
Plus, trump may just as easily change his mind on how he will do this and go about it a different way. He changes his mind all the time
I expect him to cave to advisors and not simply withdraw all troops without some sort of other preparation
The problem here is we aren't heari g the discussions.
From what I've seen there had been ongoing discussions on how to perform a withdrawal. But those reports also said Trump never read the the documents explaining the details.

Despite what you want to believe the US presence in Syria affects how other countries, including our allies, behave in the region.
Once we pull out there will be an obvious shift in dynamics.
It's for a multitude of reasons, but from an extremely simple approach people aren't going to attack places that have a high concentration of US soldiers.![]()
Silly shyt
I was going to post something else but in doing research I realized how delusional a lot of you guys are. Donald Trump said this in one of his recent tweets declaring victory in Syria:
"I am building by far the most powerful military in the world. ISIS hits us they are doomed!"
First, there is no victory in Syria. No one knows what he is talking about. They still exist. ISIS remains and the area is fukked. Second, I think he is trying the old George Bush victory in Iraq strategy. By declaring it (Bush's "Mission Accomplished" banner anyone?), he can tell his base that he was successful and add that to his "accomplishments." I think more likely he is afraid of being blamed for problems in the Middle East.
Third, he stated in the quote above and another tweet that he is building the most powerful army in the world, meaning he is going to continue spending ridiculous amounts of money and encouraging the military industrial complex. Fourth, he states that if we are attacked by ISIS that we will retaliate. That is more military intervention he is promising.
But, at the same time, I think most of you are missing the point. It isn't that Trump is some hippy who wants the troops home it's that he has no real principles. And certainly no good ones. He will do anything.
If his base said to nuke Iran he would do it. If Rush Limbaugh says to do a government shut down over the border wall he does it. This is not a victory on any level - it's just Trumpian propaganda.
