Actually, on this, I'll disagree. Without Fed intervention, you're going to have 50 different state laws that actually minimize earning potential. Like I posted in a previous comment, Missouri had a law on the books stating that kids in-state could receive NIL while in HS as long as that school was in the state of Missouri. That's only one big time program in that meth filled hick town of Columbia. What if I'm the #1 recruit in the nation, family down bad and I need that money ASAP? Now I have to sign with Mizzou cause me waiting 7 months after signing day in order to collect will leave me and my family out here fukked up. Federal law would prevent that from happening because there would be a statute that applies across the board and not state by state. But it won't happen cause they'd rather not do their elected responsibilities + voters will wonder why this is a priority and not some other shyt (well those not in the southeast quadrant).

Nope. The courts have stripped the NCAA from any powers that they do have. Funny that the schools agreed to give them their authority but are litigating their decisions in the courts when they disagree. And it's been that way since OU & UGA sued for TV rights back in the 80s.

Feds got subpoena powers. NCAA can be ignored like Harbaugh did their ass and the most they can do is "no show" clause him even tho we all know he's NEVER coming back to the college game.

It’s a plantation mentality. They’re entitled to these players because they’re OU. And he tries to make it seem benevolent - they’re just not being prepared - as if the majority of these kids at OU are going to the league and a Rutgers education isn’t better. A blue chip prospect will be fine in most places and if they’re not - there’s this thing called a portal. Instead of Oklahoma making itself more competitive he wants to limit the options the players have - this is literally how big corporations behave. That’s why they lobby against universal healthcare and higher minimum wages.
