You can't just rebut with the word 'nonsense'. Most of Americas factories that have been closed down have been repurposed as housing or commercial spaces. We would have to build the factories from the ground up, who's paying for that? The government? Will the money from the tariffs be enough to cover this. What could we produce that other poorer countries couldn't produce faster, cheaper and at a higher quantity? What about pay?Let's split the hair between 70k and 90k. How profitable would a factory have to be to pay all its workers 80k a year and you have to offer benefits and workers comp at minimum?

Its plain to see that tuckgod is just another pants-less, clown-shoe right wing sock puppet. He cant rebuttal with much more than one or two sentences, because there is no rebuttal. Others, including me have pointed out why these statements from the trump admin are lofty, detached from reality pipe dreams, but he replies with "nonsense" and nothing else. Its hilarious.

And where does Automation factor into this equation?

If we are gonna be serious, we need to be serious and account for reality.

not just wishful thinking.
Another angle on this is the fact that we not only cant bring back these manufacturing pipelines, but even if we did, where are the raw materials going to come from? We (trump) has absolutely destroyed what brittle trade relationships we had with other countries of the world, so they may not be inclined to export materials like microchips and rare minerals to us to jump start our manufacturing anyway. It will take a long time to even begin to mend those relationships if we ever get another (competent) administration back into office.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Destroy international trade, then muse about bringing manufacturing back.

:mjlol: It will never pay that much. If they did, goods would cost too much and demand would plummet, resulting in downsizing and automation.

:mjlol: nikkas happy they're gonna bring back sharecropping and feudalism.

Nah this sounds like big Corp talk.

Once upon a time manufacturing jobs paid enough for the man to pay all the bills

Blue collar jobs created the middle class.

TV created the fantasy that everyone could live an upper class lifestyle.

Reality is, there’s nothing wrong with getting your hands dirty and living a lifestyle within those means.

Easy times create soft men. Times are getting tougher and men will need to learn to toughen up.

I have a business. I employ myself and in the coming months will have employees under me.

I’ve worked construction and electrical in the past and have gotten my hands dirty. It builds character and will sure as hell get your mind thinking creatively to find another way and reduce the wear and tear on your body.

Those toothless hillbillies can give up that dream.

Those jobs are never coming back it’s simply cheaper to manufacture goods overseas and Mexico.

They going to be poorer and struggling.
