Have you ever heard of a YouTube channel called vlogbrothers? John Green (the writer of "The Fault In Our Stars") has a video on this channel explaining why health insurance is so expensive in the United States, and why other developed countries have better quality healthcare, despite spending less than we do as a percentage of their GDP.

[
i dont defend the american healthcare system, im just not gonna sit here and cheerlead the government that brought you "21 Trillion In Debt" being the answer

Pay private insurance companies 17% off the top to administer healthcare rather than paying the gov’t 2% for the same services brehs.

Pay for a unnecessary middle man brehs.
:dead: yea, paying the government isn't gonna inflate to more than 2%

:laff:

2% is the administrative costs for Medicare. You know, the system that has been in place since the 60s.

:youngsabo:

Seems your pemissim is based more on some nebulous feelings of "distrust" of government, rather than any specific criticism of medicare.

Ole' gubment is the problem ass

So he's actually held a political office after 2002? My mistake. :troll:
:russell: this bores me

you're right, the US government is an efficient machine that never wastes money, or goes over budget, or spends money that it doesnt have, and there's no chance it can fukk up healthcare

obfuscating won’t save your uninformed opinion.

The matter of fact is Medicare covers 30% of Americans and does it way more efficiently than any private insurer. No reason why it wouldn’t be able to keep administrative costs low given additional users.

Why do you want us to continue wasting 17% of our premiums on middle men?
