Why do you think whites have economic power? Its because of government intervention. Years of laws and jim crow preventing blacks from accumulating wealth got us here. Afirmative action works. The problem is its no longer just for blacks as originally intended. Now white women, and gay white males and every other group claims minority status and that was done specifically to prevent blacks from gaining economic power through afirmative action. If blacks were really getting 20% of fed contracts than you could have your black lockheed martins and black microsofts that could employ and empower thousands of black folks. You cant get that large any other way.

you can write all the essays you want about the history of racism none of that is evidence that affirmative action and diversity programs are the proper way to attack the issue
Affirmative action going to other groups is not affirmative action going wrong, that is what affirmative action is, affirmative action is a program created by white liberals to throw some bones at black people, in no way shape or form is it designed to give black people economic power and in no way is it a threat to the white power structure, its designed to make black people shut up, and its deesigned to make other groups shut up that is why it always spreads to other groups, the fact that you and a lot of people latch on to is due to the fact that basically you dont have a real economic plan and you dont know what else to do

if you want black lockheed martins and black Microsofts affirmative action is not the way to do it, the way to to do that is to have a fundamental shift in black culture towards academics and to create a huge mass of black engineers which will create the critical mass necessary for black companies to develop regardless of white people
