I made the decision to go full vegetarian these last couple of weeks.
Don't regret it at all. Few factors.
This summer i started growing more vegetables, reading more.
I read Dan Buettner's Blue Zones, and as well as doing my own research, the vast majority of healthy long lived populations on the planet appear to consume largely plant based diets. They may consume the occasional fish or meat/lard a couple times a month, but the vast majority are mostly eating things like greens and legumes and healthy starches.
and I've begun to believe that this is an ethical issue that goes farther than just cruelty towards animals. I don't believe our planet can sustain a population on a western based diet.i'd been reading for a couple years now and it's lead me to believe that methane emissions from animal grazing is a serious serious environmental issue that affects everything from aquaculture to global warming .I watched the Cowspiracy (on Netflix now) among other things.
I want to minimize my impact on the planet as much as i can from here on out.
