been on that vegetarian/minimal dairy time for a few years. feels great, but I'm not militant about it. people can eat meat/dairy and be extremely healthy.

the biggest contributor to overall health is your mindset, how you live life. granted, it's easier to get your mind right when you're eating right, but it's not a prerequisite.

good video above -- watching it right now instead of working :manny:

I made the decision to go full vegetarian these last couple of weeks.

Don't regret it at all. Few factors.

This summer i started growing more vegetables, reading more.

I read Dan Buettner's Blue Zones, and as well as doing my own research, the vast majority of healthy long lived populations on the planet appear to consume largely plant based diets. They may consume the occasional fish or meat/lard a couple times a month, but the vast majority are mostly eating things like greens and legumes and healthy starches.

and I've begun to believe that this is an ethical issue that goes farther than just cruelty towards animals. I don't believe our planet can sustain a population on a western based diet.i'd been reading for a couple years now and it's lead me to believe that methane emissions from animal grazing is a serious serious environmental issue that affects everything from aquaculture to global warming .I watched the Cowspiracy (on Netflix now) among other things.

I want to minimize my impact on the planet as much as i can from here on out.

Decided to limit my meat intake to curry goat, oxtail and chicken going forward with an occasional cheesesteak.

You can eat any meat you want but once again for the 1000000000000000000000th time: WESTERN CIVILIZATION HAS NO CHILL

They don't understand that just because you CAN have steak every night for dinner doesn't mean that you SHOULD. These are things that most kids have (or should have) learned in a fukking high school Health class but alas this country is fukking stupid and that's why so many die prematurely or develop health issues in their fukking 40's.

Those of you trying to cut our fruit are also wildin...Fruit is good for you and your body needs the macronutrients that they provide. But people thinking drinking 5 smoothies a day counts as fruit or that drinking lots of 100% juice counts as fruit. NO...THAT'S where your excess sugar is coming from. Eat the fruit itself, the fiber will slow the digestion and its better for you.

Bump. I've cut out chicken, beef and pork for now. I'm thinking about become 100% vegetarian.
I pretty much have cut out beef and pork except for bacon. There just is not reasonable substitute for it.
