Zones and a lack of team three-point shooting are the very thing that has kept Lebron contained at any point in his career.
Who the hell was going to stop him with man-to-man defense and no help in the 1990s? You gonna hand-check 265lb Lebron out of the key?
Remember, Lebron was coming out of high school in 03/04, the most defensive year in basketball (illegal defense AND hand-checking were allowed at the same time). And he averaged 21-6-6 as an 18-year-old rookie.
I'm sure the league was racking their brains, trying to figure out how they could turn such a limited talent into a superstar.![]()
He would have been stopped mentally or did you guys miss that part of the video. We saw what happened when physical teams played Lebron, dissapearing acts when it counted. He sure wasn't winning no chips and living up to expectations of being "The King"
.He was forced to run to Miami and create a superteam.
Shouldnt have said he wouldn't have been a superstar,he was a superstar before he was drafted. But he wouldn't have any chips so he wouldn't have been seen on the level he is now as holding up the league. At best he would be Iverson status, and probably not that since he is not as beloved culturally and is not as fun to watch.

how come players from ISO ball era have been averaging so many free throw attempts, would nba refs stop blowing whistle when bron attacks the rim in 90s?
