:heh: I very seriously, seriously doubt that...the music career is not even worth talking about...and whenever the music stuff winds down and he starts to focus on acting...considering Will Smith was previously used as a point of reference...and not to shyt on Common, who all things considered is doing about as well as can be realistically hoped for in the world of acting considering his talent level and range as a token rapper-turned-actor...but i find it very hard to believe drake would consider having common's acting career as it stands today as anything but a huge disappointment compared to what he would have imagined
Com has been rapping for 20+ years. Drake has certainly been far more successful on a mainstream level - but I seriously doubt he'll be able to maintain that level of success for 20+ years. In fact, he is setting himself up for the backlash that happens to all rappers who attain the level of mainstream success that he has (with the exception of Jay and Nas). Drake's been around for three years from the release of his first album right? Let's revisit in 2015...see how he's doing after five years. Then again in 2020 - see how he's doing after ten.

If Drake's aspiration is to be a mainstream movie star then Com's acting career would definitely be a disappointment. Com is probably top 5 (maybe 10) in terms of rapper/actors...

Why are people comparing Drake to Will Smith? Because he was an actor?

He wasn't even that good of an actor and I can't see him putting asses in seats like Will can.

In the couple of years that Drake has been around, he has already achieved levels of success, acclaim, and standing in the game that Common has not gotten remotely close to....no need to revisit in 2015, there is no pretty much no way Drake would trade his rap career for Common's...i just have a hard time imagining Drake conceding a spectacular run contending for the tier 1 rap throne (no matter what happens from this point onward), in exchange for basically nothing in return but "props from the real hip hop headz son!" or whatever...if he were that kind of rapper, he would've kept on middling around on the local toronto rap scene and dropping free mixtapes with phonte and elzhi features instead of going for his and taking over the major leagues...he's of the jay-z lineage of rappers

I don't even want to seriously consider what a top 10 rapper/actor list looks like :pachaha: ...but yeah we're in agreement in that if that's his ceiling, drake would prolly feel disappointed at it

If you go to IMDB.com it seems like Common is actually having the overall career that Drake claimed he wanted after So Far Gone took off...What happened to all the talk of Drake being the next Will Smith and having his own sitcom and leading roles in blockbuster films?

He's mos def a success musically, but the whole roll out plan for him suggested he was gonna be a serious double threat...

Bruh. Drake has been a mainstream artist for barely 25% of the time Common has been in the game and already said he's going hard on films when this album cycle is over.

Dude already got his part in the Anchorman 2 wrapped up... :mjpls:

The thread title asked if Drake had ended his career.. Seeing though Common hasn't released an album since the so called beef occured, I don't know what else these weirdos would be talking about...

Man, don't use LOGIC on these star-struck fukk nikkas.

Well it's just as logical as suggesting someone who hasn't attempted to release any material has had their career ruined..

Don't try to get smart and reasonable in the middle of a dumb discussion..When you start down this road, Go full retard...

Ole "Mayweather ain't been sh1t since his last fight" azz n1ggas....

:russ:
