nikkas turned it into a dikk measuring contest like anything else

if there's a show i really like, i don't even tell anybody as soon as bluelock dropped i ran to the manga thread and then read all 100+ chapters to get caught up before someone could talk me out it using facts and logic

Mayuri has had a rough 24 hours; yelling at Genryusai for not killing this nikka Yhwach a long time ago, ordering the execution of entire sections of the Soul Society, and now some of his fellow Captains getting their pockets ran before he could finish his download on Kazaa.

I never seen that man hauling ass the way he did last episode, as if that'll change the download speed.

Honestly, last ep was pure comedy.

Am I the only one that feels like the Chainsawman hype train went into full speed too early?
I feel like it's by FAR its the most stanned anime on twitter/youtube/etc. but it could just be my feed. I LIKE what I've seen so far (I think the first episode in particular was well executed to draw me in, give me a rundown of the situation, make me care for the main character's struggle, etc.) but people are stanning this show like its at the climax Imagine if people were treating the first 4 episodes of YYH like it's Chapter Blacc, the first 4 HxH episodes like its the Chimera Ant arc, the first 4 one piece episodes like it's marineford, etc.

Am I out of touch for at least waiting for the show to cook?



I'm guessing its mostly manga readers who are getting over-excited because they've been reading it for a long time so they know whats up.

maybe cause the main character is an incel this is extraordinary to them

CSM was only hype as a manga if you binged it imo.

I think people assumed the adaptation would smooth the build up out a bit but like.... even then its not gonna be for everyone even at its best.

I've said it before, but nikkas need to stop chasing that hype train.

I’ll say this storytelling wise I loved it and my wife did and she ain’t even seen a episodes
But she was like is the anime like this it’s too much singing and I said nope not like this

Oda storytelling is top tier one of the best if not the best imo but he is up there
Even tho shyt tons of songs at least they weren’t bad I think around 10 of em dont quote me on it tho it’s that many songs

Im assuming because usually anime production cuts down a lot of plot and storyline from the original manga and it prob loses its integrity.

one of my homies even transitioned away from straight up watching anime when it releases and is now a manga snob. Problem is now LOTS of nikkas are becoming snobs now and ngl its mad annoying

I was surprised how faithful ufotable was to adapting DS, but 99% of the time you’re missing key things that aren’t animated from a original manga.

And the things you miss if its from novel > manga > Anime is next level.

If you want the full experience you need to be novel reader first manga reader second and hope the studio doesnt fukk up and be anime watcher last.

Thats why im happy for now how emenice in shadow is doing. Did a whole speedrun on that one. Web novel > light novel > manga and now anime.

Whats a manga reader snob to a light novel reader elitist…

I get the feeling that BlueLock is gonna make me appreciate soccer the same way Hajime no Ippo made me appreciate boxing. It's the breakdowns and over stylization of real world techniques.

Like I be combing through this youtube channel "Modern Martial Artists", which focuses on the different techniques of boxers, Muay Thai fighters and MMA fighters. I never woulda done this before Hajime no Ippo.

Before Hajime no Ippo, I (and I'm sure a lot of people) would glance at boxing and only see like... one boxer aggressive, one kinda keeps away. It's not like wrestling. You don't see the flashy shyt. Announcers only really go into win-losses, left hand/right hand, and then do play-by-play.

Hajime no Ippo literally breaks it all down for you, and then adds all the street fighter special move stuff. You look at real world examples, boring mundane shyt suddenly becomes exciting. Even slow, sluggish non-Mike Tyson/Ali fights become a thing of beauty.

i came to ippo already as a hardcore boxing fan and love it as well. the show does a good job introducing boxing principles. i also love that it shows the personality traits and habits that make some people world class and others just journeyman. the outside the ring stuff was just as intriguing as in the ring

Almost all anime adaptations are commercials for the source material. Every now and again you get an Attack on Titan that’s still that but also intends to be its own finished product but the core purpose of any non-original content in anime is to elevate the source.

It’s only natural that a lot of people, who treat anime like it’s a stand alone product, once they get frustrated with the inherent flaws of it pick up the source of these things notice the adaptation decay and become jaded.

I’ve drastically reduced the amount of anime I watch as I started reading.
