One thing that is clear is that it isn't a case of body swap like it was for Nodoka. In fact, the puberty syndrome isn't specific to Uzuki. As Futaba points out, we assume Uzuki joined a group of some kind with quantum entanglement. It makes me wonder, potentially, could it be Miori who is centered around the puberty syndrome, and Uzuki meeting her last episode is the chain reaction?

I find it interesting that despite her solo song doing well, Uzuki is conflicted. The Sweet Bullet members are her first friends. Though a core issue for Uzuki is that she couldn't read the room. As her dream to perform at Budokan is a very real dream. Although it could be more of an ideal for her, the dream isn't realistic.

Idol culture can be quite cruel, so Uzuki's dreams of how long she can be an idol are a fair question. Uzuki finally reading the room adds to the reality that Budokan is much farther than she originally realized. Two things I like Sakuta did. Like he did with Kaede he brought her to school; he brings Uzuki to literally Budokan.

The other is how he mentions both versions of Uzuki are good. The one who can read the room and the other who has trouble. Much like how we see two versions of Kaede in her arc in the 2nd movie. The key is how Uzuki can bring about the things she was aware of now back to the original Uzuki when the Puberty Syndrome is gone. Kaede had the diary, if we recall.

We did see Ikumi, who I recall was a classmate of Sakuta in middle school. Perhaps she will be more relevant in this season after her introduction in Knapsack Kid. Though the odd one was Himeji, who is Tomoe's underclassman.

Now there is clear yaoi subtext in this story, and I normally don't read those series. It is a small part of the story. The horror and supernatural mystery part plays the big & main focus of the story. Obviously, if someone doesn't want to touch something with any signs of yaoi, then my suggestion is to avoid it. I read the first 5 volumes, and the only part that really weirded me out was when Yoshiki put his hand inside the fake Hikaru.
yea that's the part i just saw :dame: if that's as far as they go then i'll let it slide, but if this shyt escalates.....

For "The Summer Hikaru Died" Episode 2. First for manga comparisons

  • This episode adapted chapters 3+4 & the part of chapter 13 where Tanaka is talking with the older men.
  • I like adding this part of chapter 13 here because the mention of the impurities that are no longer in the mountains is gone.
  • Holy shyt, the horror vibes are some of the best I've seen in a horror. I think it is done better than Dark Gathering, which was really solid for horror anime standards. (Obviously not talking about manga for that one.)

Honestly, this adaptation is serving the point that horror can be done in anime. Granted, CyGames Pictures is on a roll. From the beginning to the end of the episode, how creepy and unsettling it is. So maybe this is a special case perhaps.

I like the mention of the kids going through the mountains and Tanaka mentioning the mountains' impurities are gone. It really is a well-put scene, along with whatever was targeting Yoshiki. That gym storage was honestly much, much more unsettling than it was in the manga. In both :dame: & in terms of the actual horror of it.

Although that cashier lady was tripping. Talking about Yoshiki's sister along with his parents really illustrates how uncomfortable Yoshiki is hearing her talk about such things. Directing for this anime is immaculate.

9 episodes, and honestly I really like how the CG is used. I just wished some of the action scenes lasted a bit longer. There could be more of an impact to them.

Man hate to see Klopp die :mjcry:. He was a great mentor and really looked out for Aleks.

When they arrived in Tunguska, I found it interesting how they lost control of the bears. It is one of the weaknesses of genetically engineered creatures. Unlike machines, they still have a mind of their own. Also Loris being a calculator had me pausing for a minute. :skip: Kind of thought it would be more pratcial then that, but I guess in that situation that is what called it. Also, being a Darwinist makes sense given how much she knew in comparison to everyone else.

A device that can create abnormal weather would absolutely be a huge difference in war. Though what Telsa is actually doing in New York will dictate the events. Given his involvement with the Lightning Cannon who knows what is truly the case. Tho Sharp's comment of how can you trust someone you don't even know :dead:. Well, we already had a short arc of Alek doing that already. It would be inconsistent if he didn't.

Secrets of the Silent Witch and The Stunned Hero and the Assassin Princesses both got me feeling some type of way about the "so socially awkward that they can't express themselves" trope.

I know it's just entertainment, forgetable entertainment at that - but this is such a common trope for an MC to have, that it just makes me feel sorry for Japan.

I'm not really a big Anime fan, but I'm a couple episodes into Leviathan and I'm really enjoying it. Not sure what exactly clicked for me to enjoy this one but I'm open to suggestions for any other Anime that might be in similar vein (or that are just really good).

Japan culture is fukked up. These types of personalities are obviously exaggerated, but the type of unhealthy introverts exists in Japan. This is on top of the unhealthy work culture, which we know fully well because of Mappa's BS with JJK when they were making S2.

It felt like a good anime with war that uses its war themes well. It didn't have the usual anime bullshyt, basically.

I think old-school Mecha might be up your alley. I haven't dived into Gundam too much yet, but OG Mobile Suit Gundam is usually what I hear is a good place to start.

If you're looking for a shorter series not to be overwhelmed, then I would suggest 86.

Ghostblade episode is a different vibe entirely :wow:my boy so introverted loud noises and crowds make him sick to his stomach.

The ways he was spying on his kid :dead:vnikka had no idea how to be a dad, had no idea she been noticed him

That's crazy how they had to animate that Loli fight twice to show his POV and the costume change

I've seen enough, this man has infinite ideas for origin stories, the way these character stories are linking together is impressive

For Toilet-bound Hanako-kun S2 Episode 14, this episode finished adapting chapter 61 as well as chapters 62 & 63. It is really shaping up to adapt this arc very well.

Sketch for episode 14 by the mangaka AidaIro

Yeah, this one might be my Shangri La Frontier of the season. No frills, just fun action. They animated the hell out of it!
