What do you think Hip-Hop would be like if Tupac and Biggie did their time in the game?

Biggie would have went full blow shinny suit, something he hand a hand in making:scust:

Pac more politics...less rap

...overall not that much a difference would have came about with them being here.

:flobbe: Pac died in 96, wasn't even close to his peak yet with mountains of music in the vault and a viable movie career in front of him. You do say some wacky ass shyt :HHHScust:

That was his peak as an artist...maybe not career wise because he wanted to jettison off to Hollywood

Still be around as 90s vets and maybe have hit or miss albums or acting gigs.

As big as they were when they were alive I feel like Snoop was bigger than both of them so I dont even know if they were top dogs per say.
You had other people bigger (Meth/Wu, Fugees, Cube, Snoop, LL, Nas, Bone) in the same time, so I dont know if they would be these dudes the culture revolved around like some say even though thwy were big.

You are talking out ya ass...LL served the ladies and gave cool singles

Snoop was forced to lean back on his own label

Fugees were huge but not comparable

Pac and Big beef turned into a spectacle for the ages

He was poetic , sincere and pushing that socialist "change" wave
while being in and out of jail and surviving shootings and modeling for gay designers
and smutting out porn stars, actresses and revellers ....

Biggie played that Mafioso larger than life role to a tee

and you think these Staten Island dust heads were bigger ? :scust:

Do you think H-Town, Mint Condition and Shai were bigger than BoyzIIMen too ?:mjlol:

Pac would've got his ass beat badly and lowkey it would happen on the West Coast. His fall from grace would be similar to Suge Knights or Damien Dash. He's saved by becoming a B-list actor and narrates his own Unsung.

Notorious, if he hadn't got in shape is kicking the bucket; Besides that I think he'd end up becoming a producer, he's the one who has the tell all about Mr.Cee being gay on VladTV.

:heh:

They would have fallen off like everybody else that was hot at the time, and they wouldn't be remembered nearly as fondly as they are currently. Like @Wacky D said, them dying made them much bigger than they actually were. If they were still alive they would be in the same position as other popular 90s acts, not that much would have changed.

And let's be real if BIG hadn't died LAD would have gotten a lot of criticism and out right hate for the pop direction it took, especially knowing Puff would have had BIG dancing in shiny suits like a clown.

Pac and Big's beef was like a year in the public.

The culture did not reolve around only them. They were big but not the only one.

And you're really bugging if you dont think Snoop and Method Man/Wu-Tang werent big during that period. They were everywhere during that time. And LL had a big resurregence mainstream wise with Mr Smith

All I'm saying is they werent the only dudes running it. Its how they went out that mythologized a lot of stuff.

Hip-hop would be less popular.

Pac and B.I.G.'s death brought a lot of fans who probably would have never listened to hip-hop if it wasn't for the fact of rappers real life drama. Pac/B.I.G. deaths made it feel more real...more authentic.

How many white kids like Eminem wanted to be Tupac?

It was no longer just music. Same reason 50 sold crazy records when his publicity run was about getting shot, it was no longer just about the music.

I don't think rap would have been as big if Pac and B.I.G. did not get killed. People don't remember how from 1997 to 2005 realness was a big thing, a lot of rappers started to put out more edgy music. Even Mc Hammer became a gangsta rapper.

After 2006 Hip-hop moved from this era, and now its more about movements thanks to Dip Set and Joe Budden grass roots approach. This is the era we are living in now.

1984 - 1991: Golden Age (Rakim, Krs-One, Slick Rick)
1992 - 1997: West dominance/NY Coming back (Snoop, Wu Tang, B.I.G.)
1998 - 2006: Post B.I.G./Tupac (Jay-Z, Nas, the South)
2007 - present: Movements/Lanes (Dip Set, Philly Rappers, Trap Raps, Joe Budden/Emo rap)

Idk bro. That east coast vs west coast fiasco would've lasted longer than what it should if that was the case.

It's a fact Pac probably would've focused more on film then music.

Idk about big.

jay-z would not be where he is today thats for sure....:sas2:

I have to disagree. jay was on his way regardless. I think his music would've been different tho.

jay would've got boosted off of nas & biggie selling out.

but then again, knowing jay, he would've followed right behind them.:patrice:
