So what do you wanna talk about, prime vs. prime? It's already established that Bone sold more than Wu in their primes. Did they make better music? That's subjective. I don't think so. It's basically whose music you preferred to listen to more. Wu were big in the 90's, Bone were big in the 90's. Wu sold alot of records, Bone sold more. Again...all you have is that Bone sold more records, which they did. Nobody is arguing that. But selling records is not sole indication that you are a better artist or had a more lasting and powerful legacy.
Sales aren't the only indication, but for all the other reasons yall can name and point to as proof that Wu is bigger, can simply be written off as Bone having shytty management, infighting, nobody who's business minded behind them, you cant even argue there style is dated because its influence is still seen and heard in all of this music that's out today
If you want to use the argument that WU had bigger personalitys, better management and visionary behind them that's fine, but just be happy Eazy died

...My problem is acting like they music is what made them bigger and more visible than Bone today...or acting like Bone only sold more because they was more pop when you had Wu members winning grammys for chick songs?...Nah,i cant go for that.
I said "if you want to argue strictly music" then yes, their prime would matter. But a gang of shyt independent of music has raised Wu's visibility over the last 20 years, to the point that they have a whole concert series built around them, and BONE is performing under them.
And yes, if KRS was opening for Cube then there's a ton of factors that would contribute to that wholly separate from their music. It wouldn't be a surprise, and who sold what 25+ years ago wouldn't even need to be a topic of conversation.
The fact that there's a NWA movie and not a BDP movie should be a big ass clue as to what I'm talking about. Cube is a pop culture icon and his music from the early 90's has very little to do with that in 2016.
Fred.
How long has WU been pop culture icons though?Cuz we not going back 20+ years,we going back less than 10 years when Bone dropped a album the same year or so as Wu and sold more albums. Wu didn't JUST become pop culture icons, yet they still getting outsold by Bone

?as a pop culture icon Cube wouldn't be getting outsold by KRS today, thats for sure....So as far as Billy Oceans question,I'm not sure what else there is to talk about here....Bone outsold them in they prime, and well out of they prime AFTER Wu was "pop culture icons"....Yet when Bone fans make accusations of bias, and smoke and mirrors its laughed off, maybe yall shouldn't be laughing so hard
Depending on what argument you CHOOSE to argue, and find relevancy in,you could make this thread say "Why has Wu never reached Bones level" and it would be accurate
