So we're gonna ignore how MJ came back trying to act like Kobe and failed? Jordan's stint with the Wiz was all about Kobe. He tried to shoot lke Kobe, walk lke Kobe and WIN lke Kobe. He gave up after Kobe gave him a double nickel on his dome.

breh...notice how Kobe went and married himself a latina and now this copycat MJ, went and got himself a latina fiance
:comeon:

Let's not pretend that you were speaking to anyone else's assumptions about what it is to be black vs white. You said what you said about Kobe's "whiteness" as a matter of fact.

If we're going to be stupid enough to use race and culture as means of deciding which players should be liked or disliked, I don't think a black person should be required to like a person that grew up in a primarily white background. Why is that offensive or difficult to understand?

The Sweet Science
Kobe didnt marry a sista,he did marry a death row groupie, snitched to the police, let Rick Fox smash his wife then raised dudes kids and somehow beat a rape case against a white girl in colorodo! Seems like the start of a strong case for c00n status. I bet white people would draft him in the Racial Draft :russ:

Yeah, I'm racist and ignorant for arguing that race should not be a determining factor for whether a player should be liked :what:

You basically said:

":bryan:??? Liking Kobe isn't a black thing to do. Kobe's white. He grew up in a nice place, went to nice schools and speaks Italian. :heh: That's not black."

Since you're suggesting that some players are blacker than others, why don't you name a player you think is pretty black for us?

That's clearly not what you said.

You're FOX news status right now.

I think that a mexican that goes to school in San Diego is americanized in comparison to other mexicans, even if his skin color is the same. If he grew up and went to school with nothing but white people, I would say he is "whiter" than his peers back in Mexico. Mastermind would probably have a problem with me saying that since I'm not mexican and couldn't possibly make that judgment.

I don't really think many NBA players grew up in what would be characterized as the "ghetto". And whether or not he came from the ghetto really had nothing to do with the original comment, which was that black people are required to like Kobe or they'd be considered c00ns. Ghettos don't include any certain race and really don't need to be included in a racial discussion. Ghettos can be white, mexican, black, or a combination of the above.

Bilz, out of all the debates that we had over the years, this right here is probably your worse work. Eh...then again, it's definitely top 325. You're really trying to justify what you initially said? I thought you was trolling on purpose until you decided to DEFEND that nonsense. You went from one thing to another and another just to try to justify your initial reaction. You weren't trolling?

No, I have repeatedly said that liking or disliking a player based on race is retarded. I didn't say liking Kobe is a non-black thing to do, I said that it's stupid to like Kobe just because he's black.

Beyond that, his lifestyle and upbringing makes him particularly unrepresentative.

You're judging my work based on your level of agreement with it so by definition, that makes it some of my best work.

Are you really going to argue that out of the population of the NBA, Kobe's lifestyle and upbringing isn't among the LEAST congruent to the average black man? Let's just be honest now. You like him because he's on your team and you like the way he plays, not because of how black he is. His race shouldn't be a factor to anyone.

Says the person that just completely fabricated a quote.

:merchant:

Your whole defense is that you were saying it wasn't fair to call someone a c00n for not liking someone you don't even think is that black.

It's whatever man...I just hope you don't pass on your ignorance to your kids.

Edit: I get it. You're just to dumb to realize that saying a black person is "white" is different than saying they don't have an upbringing that is familiar for to most black Americans. :russ:
