What instruments? Beats are made using instruments by default.

You mean piano, different basses, guitar, synths, horn sections, percussion, woodwinds?

Hm...if you actually are listening to what you're saying,......................:mjpls: almost sounds like what is used to make most Hip-Hop beats regardless of Kendrick's inclusion in Rap. Out of curiosity, if you heard him fart into a mic and it sounded like a rusty trumpet, would you say that was "groundbreaking experimentation shytting all over the game"?
.
There's a difference in digital instruments and analog ones that require recording real time

The sky is blue, and leprechauns are said to be found at the end of rainbows. No shyt, a beat is still a beat, why the sudden change in preferential standards for instrumentation?

There's pros and cons to each method.

Nah not neccisarily you've got to take in the sonic difference that comes with a beat, I could play some horns on pro tools from a synth for example, but the sound of an actual horn being played and recorded at that time is purely going to sound different, Idk the science behind it but there's a difference. Still in end you're right a beat is a beat

But you know wanna why people prefer instrumentation? Cause it takes way more effort and time and practice, instrumentation is really something only people who like the actual development of songs tho,

I love instrumentation probably more than classical cacs, but Hip-Hop beats and production tech are so advanced, it can sound realistic as hell nowadays.

I think the problem is most them nikkas don't have decent flows, and they have simple rhyme schemes. Music to the majority is all about about presentation. Dude might be talking bout some shyt you relate to but it sounds so boring or generic that it doesn't strike you like it has the potential to.

Even a "trap" rapper can be diverse in presentation, but when it sounds like they don't put much effort into their art, I can't get jiggy with that shyt. Its borderline disrespectful to the genre and the fans

Kendrick tried to bring the soul and live instruments back into the game and you fukk nikkas called him corny. Y'all oughta be ashamed:hhh:

Yep. These fatherless dudes want to make strip club music for thots and bums. It's like everything revolves around the strip clubs and simping hoes now. :mindblown:

Muthafukkas copying the Lil Wayne/Gucci Mane blueprint for over a decade now, flooding the market with thousands of disposable songs and catering to hoes, and yet they still don't blow and their show money is peanuts since the market has.so much competition.

Trap beats are beyond played out. It's like gangsta rap post Kanye West in 2004, when everyone knew that it was in its twilight years, but them old head east coast rappers still made it until the youth kicked it out for southern beats.

What we see now, are a buck of spineless fatherless dudes scared to innovate or push anything, because they want easy money. Black music needs a young version of Kanye West or even some groundbreaking shyt to restore balance. With Trump in office, maybe the 15 year southern strip club party that the radio shoved down our throats may come to an end, since America is going to go 3rd world very soon.

If you look at hip hop, most people at the top of the game, minus ATL nikkas ain't really on that trap shyt like that

Cole, Schoolboy Q, Kendrick, Big Sean, Logic, Drake, Tech N9ne, Childish

you make a good point though, that shyt is ass and I'm tired of it too, I'll fukk w/ it every now and then though

I told this local producer to start making non trap beats and abandon the popular southern sound because it sounded uninspiring.

Backseat Freestyle?

"bringing back" is just as corny as mumble trap

The sound won't change until there is a new wave of moguls running labels. Until some new Master P's, Diddy's, Hov's, Dame's, & Russell's come through and crush the buildings, we're stuck with this low cost high profit fast food music we have today :martin:

bingo.

i'll also add: the sound won't change until these cosign dependent weirdos like Duck and Snore are gone. Drake is cosign-dependent but he's not a weirdo :wow: 6 Hov

Yeah one thing I do wish hip hop beats did more often is using more effects, like instead of the best being the same save for he hook in 3-4 min it should have gradual changes throughout , like the shyt is practically the ultimate mash up of electronic and house music at this point
