After reading a lot of these posts, I feel like people have no idea what trap music actually is. For one thing, it's beginnings (production wise) stems from DJ Paul and Juicy J in the early 90s...

Yea theres a difference between the OG Memphis trap sound and the wwatered down ATL trap from the mid 2010s.

Trap in its current watered down form aint going away in the mainstream. Now yt pop and even country are using those sounds. Anyone waiting for boombap to come back shouldnt hold they breath.

I just want more diversity in sounds....theres a place for trap but whrn its the only sound really being pushed on a mainstream level, it becomes repetitive

The music is what it is. There was always shyt like this being made. The frustrating part is that it's latched onto the mainstream culture because it's so simple and easy to repeat and does not challenge the listener to think in the slightest. It's the definition of mindless entertainment and fetishizing the hood. So this becomes the face of the culture, which is a very bad look

Outside of Tip and Jeezy I don't really mess with Trap Music. Don't want them going anywhere but the rest can pretty much burn.

This god awful sound is one of the worse things to ever be incorporated in music. :scust:
Preach.......

Yeah I actually tried working with some trap producers a while back. the workflow had me disgusted :scust:

They didn't even know how to get the midi keyboard working because they don't ever compose anything, or play drums.

The entire process is listening to loops over and over again to manually change the rhythm/add in new drum sounds. :picard:

A lot of them basically just use pre-made patterns and do what we call “2 finger melodies”. fukk chords. fukk instrumentation. This trap shyt is worse than the Swizz triton keyboard era. Damn.

I'm confused by the OP...he mentions he tired of trap specifically because of the content??? The same content nikkas been rapping about since the 90's:jbhmm:

Trap is more to do with production than content. I notice a lot of these threads from east bias posters who try to low key shyt on the south:mjgrin:
I’m from the south and this shyt us fukkin trash. Some of my favorite southern albums, many trap fans have never heard of. But I love music period. Not just hip hop.

Funny how they push watered down Trap music, when sales are at a historical low.

Rap music is for women now. Women aren't introspective, self aware, or intelligent. That's why they don't have any great achievements. As long the feminist are winning rap will be dumbed down trash worshiping p*ssy and telling young black men to be tricks.
