From 1-8 maybe

After that tho... :hhh:

U won't agree nor do I expect u to understand breh. U don't have them...

Hit me when u do. Kids first always. I'd be pissed at wifey if she didn't take care of them first even if they came over grown with my grandkids.

different cultures breh, kids were never served first when I was growing up so I doubt i'll do the same with my own.

You may be right, who knows.

But I have 29 years of Nigerian programming in me that will be hard to get rid off.

Growing up I remember that my mom would serve my father first. He wasn't even home and yet she would separate his food first. When we were having dinner together, my father would always be served first. My mother has a lot of respect for my father. My father, however, always waited for everyone to have a plate so we could start eating as a family. I know my mother, she would give her life for me and I know that she loves me and I don't consider her being a bad mother at all. Now that I have my own wife I aim to encourage the same respect my mother had with my father with my wife and me.

Considering we are not food deprived, my husband is served first then children. I think most women opt to feed their children first tho. I'd find a far more interesting question would be who do you choose between life or death. I read an article awhile ago where the husband/boyfriend chose his spouse/girlfriend and let the child die. I always wondered if most women would opt to save the children over their men. As morbid as it sounds, if you love your spouse, you can always have more children. Besides children get relationships of their own when theyre grown. If you haven't cultivated a meaningful relationship with your husband all those years while raising children....once the kids are grown and gone, youre gonna have a problem.

The threads question seems very old fashioned tho. Do men typically sit at the table and wait to be served by their wives? From my question you can tell I ain't got a man.:mjcry:

ALLISON PEARSON: An agonising decision: Would you save your child or your spouse?

Women, in particular, seem to believe Stacy Horton should not have given up on his son. Even if it meant losing his own life or sacrificing his wife.

Interestingly, men were far more likely to say they would save their spouse. Mums, faced with the same horrific dilemma, seem to believe they would always, always put the child first - and they would want their husbands to do the same

Indeed, this would be the more interesting thread.

My husband has said to me many times, "I knew you first though" when it comes to debates about me and the kids in this very situation. Seems like it would be just as natural for him to want to protect them first, even if it meant sacrificing me, but I don't know...:patrice: I have told him many times, if we are in a situation where we have to fight for our lives, get the kids and get the fukk out. If someone is hurting them - even if that someone is me - take them and get out.

Maybe the female instinct comes because recognize, unlike men, we are born with a finite number of eggs, meaning every egg-turned-child is precious; men can shoot and reproduce until the day they die supposedly.

That is a pretty cynical way to look at it
