Like I said...playing in someone's orbit doesn't mean you were viewed as an equal talent.
They played each other in HS. They shared the same stage as in that photo...expectations the same? Nope.
At no point was Melo viewed as an equal talent to Bron. Again, Bron's skill set was always head and shoulders above Melos.
Bron just comes on the scene, Melo is viewed differently.
The NBA didn't want the Lakers' finals match up to look completely hapless from the jump?LMAO
A.I. WAS THE ONLY ONE TO GET A WIN OFF THE LAKERS THAT POST SEASON.
WON IN L.A. ON TOP OF THAT.
SO WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT THE WEST?
Nope. Bron was viewed as more talented.Yeah this is just flagrantly untrue. Melo was cast as the more skilled player and the "winner" while Bron had the higher ceiling due to his athleticism and vision. Being rivals doesn't mean that you are exact equals in talent or expectations. It means you are compared to each other and indeed in the same orbit. Melo was supposed to be a (non 3-1 choking) KD esque (another guy that didn't have the same hype or expectations as Bron but most certainly his rival) player. No one had the gap between the two being THIS wide before they came into the league.

Stop it.

There were heads in here who thought Melo should have won ROY over Bron.....still wasn't viewed as a shoulder to shoulder talent
Yeah, pretty much. A PG can't go far with one-dimensional teams. And though that series against houston will be a black mark on his record, you can't deny that CP3 has been dealt with pretty shyt luck throughout his career. He's had multiple playoff series that fell apart due to injuries either to himself or a key teammate.I also don't hold PG's to the same standard as a do SF/SG.
And CP3 6 foot. Ain't too much he can do out there to single handedly lead his team to a championship.
I dunno why this made me laugh so hard.Melo- complete failure.
melo ain't played with nobody. nikkas hate on melo but conveniently forget the best players he's had were past their prime iverson and billups.
