Arbitrary collections of sounds words language were assigned to objects.

This is wrong. The words that we use today are derivatives or transliterations of words in other related familial languages. They are not arbitrary.

Names like Brian, Dikembe, Jacob, James all were made up.

James comes from Iacomus.
Iacomus comes from Iacobus.
Iacobus comes from Ya'qob

These are not arbitrary but transliterations.

That is part of the reason why I have zero problem with Sharkeisha or Sarah.

If you name someone a made up word at least give it meaning otherwise you're half doing it.

Cornbrea for example can mean "yellow like cornbread". You have a name, a meaning, and it's significant to black history. :dead:

yep many asians rename themselves with american names
Kind of unrelated but a formarly elsaved African man named Demmark Vessey who led a slave revolt in Virgina, his original African name was 'Telamak' and his white enslaver renamed him Denmark apparently due to the similarity.

I used to be :scust: with "hood" sounding names when I was younger but as I got older I started to appreciate them more. To me it shows that unlike other races, black Americans have had an unwillingness to assimilate into white culture which is why I believe white people hate us.

Black Americans innovate in a lot of different ways from our music, food, clothing, dialect etc. Other races eventually fall in line with what we create and by doing so, it becomes popular and eventually becomes the new norm.

You might not agree with some of the moves but you should still appreciate it.

When the names are reasonable then its fine

When they are not pronounced like they are spelled then it starts to get ridiculous

I've seen cases where I was supposed to assume a missing letter, and cases where I was supposed to ignore letters

If you're making the name up from scratch, just include the right letters to spell it. That's what letters and words are

You shouldn't need instructions to read a word. The letters themselves are the instructions

You get it. We’re indoctrinated from the moment we’re born to assimilate into ‘their’ culture, starting with the name we’re given. We need to break free from that.
The thing is, there is NO way to assimilate. It's race based. You'll frustrate yourself at the very least, trying.

those are entertainers which i get why they do that in the industry i literally thought charlie sheen was white until someone told me otherwise and i got a HD tv and looked at him again :russ:.

That started with his dad, who has been acting since the early 60's. You know if he came out as Ramon Estevez, instead of Martin Sheen, all of his roles would have been as street gang member #2:russ:. Emilio was the only one to say fukk that shyt. I'm using the name I was given:gucci:.

Black Power movement caused many people to give their kids non European sounding names. Then drugs and immature/dumb ass parents caused a lot of these names to become more bizarre.

I have a "on" name. I have quons/quans in my family. It's not weird to us, and I'm proud of it. It just pisses me off when parents give their kids an absolutely ridiculous name or CACs wanna make fun of us using a corny ass name like Devontrequon or some shyt.
