It's so damn hard to interview for a job when you actually have a job these days.

Taking a day off is cool but now you have to find 4 different days/reasons to be away from work.

When you have to go through 4 different interviews you're gonna need 4 different excuses to be away from work. It's way harder to be discreet about it these days.
One of the main reasons for killing remote work. It was too easy to interview for a new job. I used to schedule 3 or 4 interviews in one day.

Job hoppers ate good during the pandemic.
:ehh:

BRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKLLLLLYYYYYNNNN
I walked out of an interview once when the company had me and another dude they were interviewing show up at the exact same time for the same interviewer. They took me first and I had to tell them I’m not interested, y’all clearly playing games and this makes me concerned about the work atmosphere. That stuff where 8 guys all show up at the same time is Hollywood stuff.
Those are usually scams. They want you to market as part of a pyramid scheme, commission based.

Every few months, they change the name of the company in the same address, same floor. Rinse and repeat. Not a real job.

I’ve had a
-recruiter call
-hiring manager
-bullshyt Gallup interview where they ask a bunch of dumb ass trick questions that have nothing to do with the actual job
-a five round interview with my potential “team.” Each of those lasted 30 minutes each. It was only so many times I could take off to “go to the dentist” or “had to be home for the maintenance man” for all that bs.

All for them to take two months to even formally reject me after all of that. I found out a month before on LinkedIn I didn’t get it when they all shared the “congrats” post of the person they decided to hire.

Oh well :mjcry:

Got ambushed on an interview one time with the director of North American operations on the video chat :dead:

Called my recruiter up afterwards and said "thanks for the heads up bytch :martin: "

How she turn around and be just as dumbfounded as I was "you said who was on the call :dahell: "

:scust:Fam, this was my life this past year +. I work for a world-class institution where internal moves are absolutely worth doing. I get cozied up to during interviews and they all "We will let you know!"

Only way I find out I don't get these positions, outside of silence for a month+, is the internal board says "Filled/Closed" one day. Meanwhile they had me dipping out of the office at odd times during the day to get on their Zoom calls where 3-4 people ask different versions of the same goddamn question.

The hiring process is beyond antiquated and tedious.

I get on a call with the recruiter.

Then a HR screening person

Then either a dept staff interview or an executive team interview.

Then fill out the fukkin app on the website. Or before. Its ridiculous as this point.

I'm not taking off work to do interviews any more
If you want me, accommodate my schedule
