OT typically means time and a half.
I worked hard in my 20s and started scaling back in my 30s. You don’t have to work overtime every single day. Grind for like 3-6 months and stop working overtime. Coast and then ramp it up again..
That don't wanting to be like the older generation is just cap. Y'all just some lazy mother fckers. OP friend weak as sh*t and don't know what the f*ck he doing. If the job came easy to him, he'd work some overtime.

Nah these folks don't be online beyond social media. It's just the generation of people confused into wanting the social media life and wanting to do as little as possible to get it. People don't see the hard work so the assume there isn't any.
Also there is A LOT of mental mental health issues in the BC. That contributes to it too. There are quite a few people who don't have the ability to make logical decisions or are on the spectrum of autism.
Definitely is some credence to this. Alot just don't have that battery. They want the finished product without putting the work into it. That microwave society where they think everything will work out even without them putting any effort into it. I do believe there's a work life balance but if you want to live a certain lifestyle you gotta put the necessary work in to make it happen. Those that don't will get left by the waysideYou don't have to 'bust your ass' to have a good QoL. The problem is they think it should be given rather than earned.
Here's an example: I know a kid (17) that lives at home, doesn't pay any bills, yet wants a car. I showed him this....
He turned his nose up.
But what's the point of all that time to themselves if they're still broke and complaining about their station in life? People especially at a young age with no family can get roommates and stack their bread up but most aren't disciplined enough to do that they'll blow it on materialistic things. Or they feel the need to show people that they're living a certain way they'll put themselves in a financial hole to prove it. It all comes down to choices.
They say an idle mind is the devils playground....you got people that just sit around all day refusing to put the work in and wondering why people are out here self destructing
