Then depending on the answer there he can reply many ways

Maybe he can ask how long shes been there, if shes passionate about her career etc
Maybe he can ask about how she got into that field
Maybe if hes knowledgeable about the field himself (something like finance, politics, tech etc) he can share some knowledge or jokes he has about the field and get an interesting discussion going

Then all of a sudden the convo opens. It aint that hard

The only DMs I answered started off the convo immediately with

"What other animes you watch"
"Goku is better"
