So your defense of shameful deadbeats is that parenting is a western concept?

That’s what you sound like... :mjpls:
Nah, I'm just asking a question

I study a lot about sociology and I wanted to bounce my ideas off people who are a little more intelligent than ur everyday person

Im not saying we should be like those people

I'm just wanting to know the rationale of it
like do yall have a good reason

"Children are raised in the mother's households and take her name...Instead, the male’s childrearing responsibilities remain in his own matrilineal household."
in the excerpt above, neither male nor female is able to escape child rearing of some kind.

"Often, the man is expected to not only support his own family, but those of his female relatives."

in the excerpt above, the man has more responsibilities than most american men

"Once married, the husband lives in his wife’s house."

in the excerpt above, the father is present in the home

these were the only parts of the link i saw related to a parent raising kids, providing or being present. you still did not answer the other part of my question

if a guy is using Tribe X's culture to justify him being absent, then is he living out the rest of Tribe X's culture?

For instance, the first example. if he's using the Mosuos as his justification for abandoning his kid, then is he raising his sister's kids because that's also part of the Mosuo culture?

Think OP is just trolling and attacking the ridiculousness of postmodernism, but nobody else caught it.

To answer your question. He would not be a dead beat at all. His people don't raise their own kids. How can he be a deadbeat when everyone does it that way?
