Why doesn't Giannis get blame for the Bucks postseason failures since the 2021 NBA Finals?

How much blame should go to Giannis?

A lot of "Giannis averaged x-amount of box score stats, it's not his fault" posts in here, if only y'all used that standard for everyone else.

More fool me for thinking TheColi gonna be consistent with what they do.

Giannis has had some stinkers and he does deserve to get clowned on for them for sure, but I'm not sure he gets blame for this series. He led the whole playoffs in PPG and RPG. There's not much you can do when guys like Kuz put up Tony Snell numbers. Like @Regular_P said, the only one you can objectively give him blame for is that Miami series in 2023, and even then he wasn't 100% healthy.

Why does it matter? When did we as fans start wanting people to be criticized? What does that accomplish? Giannis has either not been available or come up short the last 3 years. No denying this. Its obvious. Do we really need the media echoing this round the clock and questioning his legacy or heart or whatever and making up stuff and calling him names just being extra and unnecessary and frankly, unprofessional? Sure they have done it before but do we really want it to continue?

Contrary to myth, it hasnt always been this way and it aint par for the course or a right of passage. Its lazy, content filler that started with 24 hour TV, Skip, and Bron. I am more than happy to let it go with the latter 2.

Retards: they did it with my favorite player(s) so they should do it for Giannis :mjlol:

Traded Jrue Holiday for Dame Lillard and gave away a championship piece to the Celtics
Traded franchise legend Middleton and their only future asset AJ Johnson for Kyle Kuzma
3 coaches in 3 years

Gets to make a speech everytime he's eliminated and people praise it

Gianni plays up the foreign simpleton act when it's time to be accountable. He's just as bad as the rest of the entitled superstars in the league with his bullshyt (it is what it is)

How many times do you see Giannis playing great defense?

Because if you watch the Bucks regularly, rarely ever do you see that from him. And it stands to reason he's not playing that level of defense largely because of the offensive load he has to carry, and because he's not particularly strong at defending any type of matchup (he struggles in the post against bigs and he can't move laterally fast enough to defend wings and guards). He provides weakside help on occasion, but it's not to any great level, all because he's conserving his energy for offense.

He was getting cooked multiple times from Indiana just yesterday. I saw him regularly not make proper rotations and being late on closeouts.

Rarely ever do you see him setting the tone, defensively. You don't see him guard the opposition's best player. You don't see him being his team's main defensive anchor.

He ain't doing that.
As much as I'm a huge fan of Giannis, this is my one criticism of him. There are sometimes you have to take on the challenge of shutting down whoever their primary scorer is and besting him. He never takes that on and I think he should. Even if his teammates still play well and beat you at least you shut down their best player.

Yup I like Giannis. But the way people turn off their cynicism towards athletes cuz they think he's "innocent" is ridiculous to me.

Walked up to Mathurin looking for a fight but nobody saw it that way cuz "Giannis isn't like that"

TYRONE GA!
He is not the problem. His roster is. They really need to rid the supermax. These players are getting to much cap space. Spread the wealth to the middle class so GMs can be competitive.

One player getting 35% of the cap is asinine. Super max should cap at 25% so rosters can be more even.

Two supermax team builds suck. Celtics will be broken up after this season, Mobley is about to get paid switch may cause salary shedding, Pacers has a unique build, Orlando is stuck with their roster because of KCP and Wagners salary spike.

Dame is going to make 60M plus next year at 35, will not play and is small. That contract sucks and now Bucks can’t roster build.

Giannis needs help
:damn:
Eliminate the "max" and make a reasonable cap so GMs can actually do what they're paid to do.

:gucci: I don’t remember a time the Bucks lost a series and thought “they coulda won but Giannis didn’t step up “

nikka been injured and when is out there he be literally doing everything

Everything ain’t gotta be a blame game .
Exactly. Corny ass internet nikkas got to pick everything apart and play the blame game. We know Giannis and Jokic didn't have the best supporting classes that depend on them to do anything. If they lose I'm not going to shyt on them for it when they are out there balling out.

I think the real solution is to allow teams to pay the supermax but it only counts against the cap as the max value. That would still allow the players with accolades to get paid while also not completely hamstringing teams and would also prevent teams from trading players out of fear of having to pay them the supermax.
