Why is it that majority of blockbuster movies and tv series are trash in reality

nikkas hyped up sopranos, it was average at best
Then avatar was suppose to be a game changer, that joint was trash too
The revenant, Joker,Roma et al fall into the mega popular movie but trash pile
Lucifer, sense8 and the flash are also incredibly popular shows that are average at best

I have to stop falling for the hype

I can count the movies and series that lived up to the hype on one hand, so either nikkas have horrible taste
or I'm tripping

I had a person explain Americans to me in a very succinct way one time, basically she said Americans are always hyping something up. Especially if made in America. Everything’s always AMAZING!

since then, I’ve been very wary of “hype”. Mostly because I think it’s mainly a fight for attention versus actual value...

Agreed and I will also add GOT,Breaking bad,prison break (first 3 seasons) and 24 to the shows that somewhat lived up to the hype. Not all of them are trash but most are imho.
