Back then you could see Kanye's thirst and brashness for that star power and he always wanted that Micheal Jackson type of star status in Hip Hop and he's about there now.

Then, he was emo Kanye. Standing on his album cover lookin suicidal after his mother had passed away. This was the 808 days.



Then, there was the Kanye. fukkin with Amber Rose, showing up to the VMA's with a bottle of Hennessy, cupping Amber's ass, drunk, stealing the mic from Taylor Swift, knowing the whole world hated him but, still no fukks given whatsoever. This was the MBDTF era.

Noone can tell me that song wasnt fire and that was viewed as Nas "selling out" My question for all of you lame elitist backpack chewstick fans, why would you want your favorite rapper to rap the same if it is a detriment to his success? And why would you want your favorite rapper to rap about things he isnt around anymore? You want Nas to rap about the hood and street shyt when he's a rich rapper traveling the world not seeing any hood shyt he saw before? Then that means all in all that your selfish and control freaks who think the world should revolve around what you think is best when you dont even know shyt. Nas didnt sell out, Jay didnt sell out, Kanye didnt sell out, LET IT GOOO. A true fan will like their fave artist whether they rap about sand or salads. As long as the lyricism stays why does it matter what they talk about? KAnye started out as a sellout and allowed himself to be a ghostproducer in the worst sellout situation culturally.
That any culturaly relevant activity he did, would be praised more than a guy like nas.
Who was the second coming of Christ wise culturally.

So nas, is held to a higher standard.
Whereas ye is a sellout to the core.
So, ye making any light of the culture.
to pander and make commercial emo mainstream versions of atmosphere with commercial sentiments.

I feel you but understand that Kanye's music has always been quality. It's not just the fact that Nas sold out it's the fact that his music became borderline terrible at times. Kanye's been strong musically up until GOOD Music.
