Well thats different, but you included Ja who has absolutely done his job as far as becoming a star. Then the nba banned him being reactionary to tweets and fake outrage from media smh.

What your proving is that how the overall game is played stinks now. Nobody cares about the off the field stuff in nfl because the product is still great. Theyve taken all the life out of the nba. No trash talking,no hard fouls,no passion smh
LOL, Ja is off trying to be NBA Youngboy, pulling guns on The Pacers, & doing all kinds of dumb shyt.

Ja's problems are Ja's and only Ja's

He's a millionaire acting like a crashout.
Worst part is some of the media (NBA, and NFL) have voting privileges for MVP, 1st/2nd/3rd Team, OPOY, DPOY, etc.
Impacting player legacies and accolades are more concerned with campaigning or creating certain agendas instead of educating/entertaining viewers.

Last week alone:
SAS called Giannis an underachiever
Chris Simms having doubts about voting for Josh over Lamar for MVP
To be fair, he didn't call Giannis an underachiever

He said, if Giannis doesn't win another championship, he will be seen as an underachiever. :yeshrug:
Analysis is cool but thats not what drives the popularity of the sport. Even in the old days the storylines and the narratives helped drive the game. But the main thing was the main thing. Ans thats that the product was good and fun to watch. But when the product isnt good ,the gossipy/hot takes stand out alot more. Weak analysis would not stand out if the game was still good. And hot takes wouldnt bother fans if we were still passionate enough to argue regardless how stupid the take is. We repeat the nfl doesnt have this problem with similar hot takes and narratives that mostly drive the discourse.

NBA media needs more analyst like this from Shump, compared go Windhorst regurgitating box scores

Let's be honest here, the NBA has always been about regurgitating box score stats. Always.

For years now I've been speaking about how backwards using those stats are to hang an argument on. It's no surprise we've reached this space where nobody even talks about the game anymore.

So the data on the box score doesn't reflect the game we just watched?
No, it doesn't. It's a mirage.
Other than injury. How much nuance do you need?
Nuance in accordance to what's actually happening on the floor.

It's not hard. Hoops is a simple game.

If I were to ask you to compile all actions during a quarter that led to impactful play, what percentage of them would strictly be actions that are recorded in the traditional box score?
