Cause he don't know how to do anything but treat a GM job likes he's playing NBA 2K.

What he did at Philly was not impressive. If you let a 12 year old kid whose played 2K run an organization they could do the same thing.
So why can't Brooklyn or New York run their organization like this?

The Nets traded the pick that will be Markelle Fultz and the pick that was Jaylen Brown for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry (all over 34 years old) :dead:

The Sixers then used their assets from the process to easily grab Fultz without giving up anything but a pick swap and a top 5 protected pick next year. Teams like the Nets, Pelicans, and Clippers have no picks and little to no tradable assets. How do you expect to get good? These GMs are practically stealing money.

The Nets are finished.

The Knicks are finished.

The Clippers have no assets other than 6 year options on their star players (one who's already 32 btw) and the city of LA to try to attract FA.

The Pelicans rented Boogie for a year and are about to overpay for Jrue. They're also finished.

It seems to me these three teams in particular need to trust the process because they aren't going to be good for the foreseeable future.

He only tanked for like 3 years

Orlando hasn't made the playoffs in like 7 years, kings haven't in almost 15, pelicans have arguably the best big man in he world and can't be consistent, and his method gave them potential top three players at their position on rookie contracts

There's a difference between simply being bad versus trying to be bad. What made the Sixers shyt disgusting
is the fact they were trying to be bad.

Anyone can do what he did. They're just smart enough to know not to do it.
How do you compete with super teams and cities that attract free agents? No one was going to Philly. They had to do it, Hinkie just had the balls to openly tank.

Cause any idiot on the coli could do what he did :heh:

This.

I can't believe there are idiots on here who think what he did was some genius move.

I did that shyt every year in 2K. Trading away all your decent players for draft picks. Scrubing the roster clean of any decent players then tanking to get the #1 pick. Anyone can do what he did.

The reason others haven't done it as flagrantly as the Sixers is because in the real world intentionally trying to lose in a business where competitive balance is important makes bad business sense.

What's worse being bad but having a plan and goal or being treadmill and bad and clearly having no vision of ever being good

What's orlandos hope? The kings? Sixers have only been bad four years yes they were historically bad by so were the lakers. Yet nobody is defaming the people that ran the organization because instead of being honest like hinkie they used gimmicks like the kobe retirement tour hen the good ole fashion "lets play our young guys and give old dudes who stay hurt money to take cap space" moves to tank for another year.

I'd rather have hinkie running the team because I at least know what's the plan and goal

Do what Golden State did. Find a Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in the late lottery. Find a Draymond Green in the 2nd round.

Or do what the Milwaukee Bucks are doing. Find a Giannis with the 15th pick and a Thon Maker with the 10th pick.

Thinking that tanking is the only way to build a championship contender is just false. Its just being lazy. There are many ways to build a great team that don't require tactics that 12 year old kids use while playing video games.

so why havent other GMs? :jbhmm:

Cause it's detrimental to business.

Have you forgotten the shyt show Philly was 2 and 3 years ago? Barely anyone coming to games. Ridiculously long losing streaks. Roster filled with NBDL talent. Bad press in the media about tanking every week.

It was horrible for the NBA.

Most players taken that late in the draft are not Hall of Famers. The Warriors got incredibly lucky. We may possibly never see a team draft that well ever again.

People also like to forget they took Ekpe Udoph before Paul George was drafted but I'm going to let that cook.

Every team is not supposed to be good.

Sports is supposed to be hard. Its not supposed to be easy. Every team isn't supposed to be able to turn it around easily. Tanking is trying to exploit a loophole in the rules to take the easy road to rebuilding a team.

Building a championship team from nothing should NOT be easy. You just want to employ strategies kids use while playing video games to real life. The issue is in real life there are serious consequences to tanking both in terms of business and in terms of competitive balance.
