We shouldn't address the fact that this interview is done by a man who runs a magazine associated with holocaust denial?

Many liberal policies work.

Social security reduced poverty.

Medicare and Medicaid are good things.

Labor rights laws are good things.

The Voting Rights Act worked.

These guys ignore studies that show rises in min. wage translate to very little decrease in employment.

I still haven't heard a reason why we should accept lower wages than equally qualified white folks. I'm not gonna concede that we should be alright with table scraps.

The man basically is cool with shytty public schools. His are in the suburbs so those are fine. Let the poor people find their own.

1- absolutely, just not solely. Focusing on him and not his argument seems like a concession.
2- these "little decreases" disproportionately affect minorities.

... and I dont think anyone would say that the policies you named arent "good things" or that they were conceived with ill intentions... but the results have been anything but positive for the black community. They simply dont justify their cost...

I would also like to really stress his point about state provision being meaningless without first repairing the black home.

he has joined that rare circle of people like jesse lee peterson; people that no longer merit the time or effort.

there are individuals like john hope bryant that i will give time and effort to who manage to endorse solutions that are not necessarily completely in line with my own current beliefs without c00ning. once you have learned enough, you can make quicker decisions about whether or not it is worthwhile listening to the town drunk. higher learning indeed.

Just yesterday I tried to watch a Heritage Foundation video with Jason Riley. He wasn't very good so I stopped watching after a few minutes. This interview is much better.

At the 10:00 mark he talks about the increase in black graduates at the University of California once affirmative action was dismantled. What he may not know is that backdoor affirmative action is still going on.

You posted an article on a kid who went to a horrible high school but got into UC Berkeley through a program that just looked at his grades. The kid was doing so badly at Berkeley that he was questioning why he was born.

This women worked for the admissions office at UC Berkeley and describes the methods that they wanted her to use to select the "right" students.

Georgia Tech will now automatically admit the valedictorian and salutatorian from each Atlanta Public School and give them a full tuition scholarship even though most of the students don't have the required SAT scores. I expect a disaster but their teachers, principals, and counselors will push them towards Tech because the adults want quotas to be met.

actually yeah, if black people want to rise up we will have to solve our problems despite our oppression of the last "24 hours" and a brutal oppressive past, that is exactly what i am saying

the fact that liberals are telling black people otherwise is part of the the problem

yeah im aware of those allegations but i dont take them seriously, the increase of black students mostly comes from the other non selective campuses, so there is no need for AA in those, in the UC system if you meet the minimum qualifications (which are pretty high) you will get in into one of the campuses, generally speaking

the least selective campus right now is UC Merced (the newest campus), so basically if you dont get into the campus you want they will send you to Merced, but again the UC minimum requirements are pretty high so i dont think there are any unqualified black students going through the uc system

the kid at uc berkely i would file under shyt happens, people flunk or barely make it out of uc's all the time b

but the number of black students is so low at ucla, it sure isnt helping, maybe its helping latino students, but i dont consider subjective criteria AA tho, i think thats just a grey area

$5 liberal help won't do much to improve blacks situation and i cannot stand liberals. but if someone is piss poor and they need to eat they could use that $5.
