No, the question isn't about the truthfulness of the leaks, but whether in this case is holding these exploits instead of releasing them to the companies more beneficial.

How long have they had this information?
Has it been sold?
Have the released these exploits so companies can address them?

These are all fair questions.
that's like questioning a Journalist that new stuff was going on but didn't want to out their sources.

I get what you are saying though. They are legit questions. but wikileaks themselves don't actually do any hacking. they release what gets given to them.

So let me get this straight.
You guys are outraged that the government has the capability to spy on you.
When Snowden told you a few years ago they were spying on you.
And the government literally built a facility to store people's meta data in Utah.
But your mad because wikileaks told you:skip:
Breh I'm 23. This has been the U.S all my life. This is the new Americana.Folks traded freedom for security a while ago. I am sorry if y'all late getting the memo. You Better adapt.:dame:
then you need to adapt to it all.

accept the fact that we have lying shytty politicians, a corrupt banking system, corrupt police and intelligence agencies, etc.

why bother fighting at all?

Who cares about them outing their sources. People are asking for the information. But trust, they'll determine the source. They always do.

You're looking at it wrong. People are not suddenly outraged about this news. This is a continuation of outrage from improprieties of our government illegally creating a massive surveillance state over the past few decades. Its really sad that your post is dismissive and it seems like you've given up and just accepted this new status quo of government intrusion. Its NOT ok for our government to be doing this. Its literally against our Constitution.

America has only in the past maybe decade become computer literate. Before that, most people had no idea what phishing, hacking, etc were. When news broke of the NSA having a secret listening room inside of AT&T's building, most people didn't care. They had no idea what that meant or what they were capable of. This was more than a decade ago and the technological climate was very different. Today, our country is much more literate in technology and we are now fully aware of the improprieties of our government. If you tried to make a claim a decade ago that the NSA was illegally spying on Americans, you would be a conspiracy theorist. Most people wouldn't even understand your claim and evidence would be nearly impossible to attain. If you made it up to the courts, the feds would drop "national security" on the case and it would be dismissed. Today, we HAVE the leaks. We HAVE the evidence. We HAVE the resources and knowledge to understand what is really going on. They've desensitized our society into giving up our liberties for temporary security and thats not a sound policy.

you should care about the sources. they were the ones that leaked it to wikileaks.(or the media, etc.)
why shouldn't THEY be accountable for releasing the information to the public?

see this is why I think wikileaks is just a tool, and the ones with the REAL agenda are using wikileaks to push their agenda.

no different than politicians/corporations,etc. using the MSM to push theirs.

wikileaks just allows those with less power to have a larger impact.

AMERICANS LITERALLY CREATED THE COMPUTER AND INTERNET INDUSTRY.

WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT?
that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the majority of American didn't even know what e-mail was less than two decades ago.

Americans computer literacy falls directly in line with the pervasiveness of personal computers.

20 years ago was 1997. That was one of the single most important years for personal computers! :beli:

Computers and Information Systems: Year In Review 1997

"The Internet continued to grow and attract more attention during the year. While the growth rate slowed somewhat--to about 80% from 100% a year--some experts predicted there might be 200 million computers connected to the Internet by 2000, up from about 16 million in January 1997. The number of people using the Internet via those computers in 1997 was not known precisely but was estimated at about 35 million."

:ohhh:

Single most important year ever!!!

do you always throw out bullshyt? or is it just when you reply to me? cuz you are getting good at it.

My man people aren't illiterate with tech. They don't care. They literally don't care. People are gonna rationalize to themselves that "hey the government is only looking for bad guys."
You have seen it time and time again.
Patriot Act
NSA Spying
This is American culture now.

Maybe you guys are older and have different perspective talking about 10 years ago. The capability wasn't there like it is today. Today this shyt is easy and no one's gonna actually reign in the ability to use such methods. From where I'm standing at most their will be some token push to reign the CIA methods in. All the while they will still do the dirt if push comes to shove. And after the next Charleston shooter, sandy hook, or Nice some government official will say "This could've been prevented if only we had access . . ." BAM erosion of 4th amendment a sliver at a time.
