The Healtes and The Hampton 5 should theoretically be on this list, no? With how stacked their teams where as well as the chemistry between the players, it looked like it was inevitable for the both of em, only to have both "dynasties" to topple out at 2 (not counting GS's title before KD). What's the problem? Is it too hard in today's times? Are our forefathers of yesteryear like Bean, McCaw and MJ the last of the mohicans?

It’s borderline impossible. You really need to be fortunate enough for the other conference to be really bad. The bulls got theirs in an expansion era and the Shaq led lakers got theirs against the 1999-2003 era eastern conference.

You don't think this would lead the other way? Most 3-peat teams were together for a minute before doing it and are players gonna wait 4-5 years before their first trophy?

I don't know, but in this nba age it's hard because a guy can change teams and go to another contender, then someone else will do the same thing the next offseason. The shift of power in the nba is always changing, so it would be hard to do.

Just in the past 10 years the Kobe/Gasol Lakers nearly pulled it off, Heatles nearly pulled it off, Warriors nearly pulled it off. It takes a good amount of luck regarding health and bounces, but it's possible.
