It directly ties into freedom. Freedom and individuality being rights allows people to be stupid/subpar. It's not nearly as cutthroat as it should be and standards aren't rigid. There are virtually no actual meritocracies in America, because most people know they're not nice at anything like that and would rather fake it/network there way through as opposed to put the work in.
Historically America has had fortunate outcomes because of luck, and others on the world stage playing themselves, Murica actually eas never that nice at much, the pendulum has been swinging the other way in terms of fortune and outcomes as of recent.
Remember the only thing we're #1 is brute force (ie. military), not intelligence, technology, innovation, education, etc.

I don't necessarily disagree with your sentiment, but on the flip side there are A LOT of women out there who try and project this "strong woman" narrative which calls for them to take on unnecessary burdens. For example, my wife refused to let me help her out with our children when they were infants as much as I would have preferred to. Despite me constantly reminding her "that you can't pour from an empty cup," she insisted on taking on more responsibilities than she had to. I believe this stemmed from the fact that her dad wasn't around a lot when she was a child so she was accustomed to her mother doing everything. Fast forward to adulthood and here she is trying to emulate her role model to her personal detriment. Not to mention, I feel plenty of women believe men are totally incompetent when it comes to child-rearing. While I believe the nurturing process comes to most women more naturally than most men, it doesn't mean women don't make mistakes during the process. It just seems the husband or father isn't usually around to witness these mistakes and pass judgment. The majority of humans, male or female, learn from their mistakes. It would behoove new moms to understand and embrace this fact.

In other words your saying some people have lower discipline, discretion, and decision making skills despite an abundance of information and tools to aid them in strengthening the aforementioned, but you choose to give them sympathy anyway. Do you playa, but common sense and logic isn't corny.

If youre a woman, you should have plan b on deck if the man you're messing with wants to go raw and you don't have any contraceptives like an IUD or birth control pills and you don't know for certain if he has enough control to not nut inside.
