The initial point was Gucci was second to Drake in 09 in terms of being hot. My response was No Ceilings came out in 09 following Carter 3s success in 08. Wayne was still hovering at the top
No ceilings
So far gone
Deeper Than rap
Beam Me Up Scotty
Man on the moon 1
How Fly 1

Yet somehow gucci buzzed the most the year all of this dropped :duck:
And my point is that shyt came out 4th quarter 09. Gucci had projects all throughout the year. Nobody was banging rebirth. I agree he was still hovering but he wasn't 08, no disputing, hottest rapper in the game Wayne.

The entire game ignored him?:patrice: i don't remember that.
I do.

Flocka and Rocko responded and everyone else straight igged it. and he was calling out everyone.

They were irrelevant to you  you were clearly out if touch. I hated Gucci back then but that that nikka was everywhere. You and your nikkas was bumping rebirth is what you're telling me right?

LOL. I never even mentioned Rebirth and that joint ain't drop until 2010. No Ceilings was still bigger than any Gucci project.

none of these dudes are doing these numbers now, y’all aren’t proving the op’s point.

No they're not proving the OP's point. Gucci never reached their plateau even at the height of his career. Gucci is nowhere nearthe biggest rapper in the game.

The motivation to be relevant ain’t there for a TI and Ross like Gucci because Gucci never had it

TI and Ross had 2 of the greatest runs in rap. They know it’s 2018 and it’s a new generation of rappers that kids prefer

Gucci don’t connect TBH. You can’t say give Gucci props for getting his 1st plat single with a Drake hook

at the end of the day its their single

and at the end of the day its 2018 and gucci is still involved with hits

so yes,he has lapped them

every argument is trying to dismiss gucci yet no1 is stating why the other 3 are more current.....

Being more relevant in 2018 does not equal lapping them

Yeah i meant prom queen. Your still not getting me though, it wasn't bigger than them all together. Wayne dropped at the end of the year. That's not gonna have you bigger than a nikka who was in rotation all the year. The general consensus at that time was Wayne was falling off and it's true, that's exactly when he started his decline.

Quote from a ny times article.
For someone who made ubiquity his art form, Lil Wayne has done a stupendous job of disappearing this year. Sure, he was on tour and at the Grammys, but the stream of mixtapes and freestyles on which he built his reputation slowed to a drip. While he was taking a breather, others - in particular, Gucci Mane, and Lil Wayne's protege Drake - took his template and ran with it.
I know you'll disregard it but whatever. 2009 is when Wayne's name became > than his music.

IMO, Gucci’s last three albums (all post prison) not including the mixtapes are better than Ross’ last three albums

Everybody Lookig
The return of East ATL Santa :wow:
Mr. Davis

Hood Billionaire
Black Market
Rather You Than Me

Only recall a nicki subtweet. She igged him. In fact she was who I had in mind when writing that cause he went the hardest trying yo get a response from her specifically. She and most others talked around him in a "woah nikkas going crazy :pachaha:" sort of way. The others I didnt see at all

Doesnt helped that he deleted all that shyt and apologized after popping shyt

On the bright side, all you need as a rapper is a couple features/cosigns from trendy rappers enjoying their 15 minutes to "lap" 99% of the game.

Drake lapped nas and jay because he on a song with lil baby :blessed:

G eazy laps gucci cause he got a popping song with cardi b, asap, 21 and migos:ohhh:
