Aka No downgrades. It scales down automatically to the lesser hardware. Games can be built from the ground up taking full advantage of the system.
He just says games will be scaled because this gen games scaled to Xbox One X so everything is good.

The Xbox One X CPU was largely the same and was just overclocked and that basically meant games were still based off of the Xbox One/PS4 version which can be cleaned up. This is not the same as completely from the ground up.

There could be some legit arguments here, though. The CPU boost and Xbox Series X "SSD as RAM" could provide actual gameplay benefits alongside prettier grass and higher-def puddles. For example, you could have tens of thousands of zombies on-screen instead of mere thousands. I'd argue that most game developers probably wouldn't be utilizing those unique features at the start of a generation anyway, seeking to maximize profit by putting their games across both generations. That has always been the case. Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most successful examples of a cross-gen game remaining relevant throughout two console generations. With digital gaming, games as a service, and the rise of cloud streaming — things are just different now.
He basically concedes that you can make better games when not hampered by the old gen. This will happen eventually regardless. This is saying in a nutshell that games will function like remasters at first.

I'm curious what they will do with cross gen games like Halo. Will it just be one SKU that works on both or will there be a Xbox One and XsX sku?

I don't think this is as big a deal as it would have been last gen or the gen before. Still not a good look. It's not the end of the world, but if I was planning on buying series X day one, I wouldn't be happy about it.

It's pretty straight forward. Microsoft isn't going to release games that aren't available on xcloud just as it launches.

It also suggests Microsoft expects to have numerous titles launch in the first year or so.

Did she leave, she hasn’t been on since the game awards m.

She’s been in and out on vacation. She worked the Rams Fest at the end of December which I’m surprised IGN even let her do as I thought they were restrictive about stuff like that which is why previously employees left. They even let her get her own merch.

It seems more of a soft launch transitional period. The new device comes out and there are added benefits to having it but there's a transitional period for people to upgrade before getting cut off.

Microsoft at least in the console space has really worked hard at becoming more inclusive and pro-consumer. The option to play their games on the PC if you desire, adding games to Steam, Game Pass on both the console and PC for an instant library, allowing cross-console multiplayer. This is another pro-consumer move.

I don't really see this as a bad thing. In the beginning the install base of the new console isn't going to be high enough to justify giving it exceptional titles as exclusives. Launch periods are easily the worst period of a console's life. They aren't sacrificing much here.

stop making excuses for Microsoft. I guess every console launch had been anti consumer. It's anti consumer to have games for a new platform? When does anti consumer stops? A few years after launch? I want Halo Infinite for my 360!

What about us?!
