And everyone shytted on him rightfully so including me. Yet here u are defending Purdy's 3 int game like u want his used jock strap :mjlol:

Bu bu but we won...:mjlol:

That dont take away the fact he played like dog shyt goofy casual. In case your one brain cell cant process what this thread is being upped for, its about Brock being ass, not the Niners carrying every dog shyt QB they had since Young to victory. :umad:

Loser tryna start shyt on Thanksgiving :mjlol:

The thread was upped after a regular season game where his first half performance made no difference because Bryce Young was just as bad, if not worse. Critiquing every regular season quarter and half is obsessive weirdo shyt :dead: hahaha

I don't know why this is scust, it's true. Brock and Tua and Tier-2 QBs, and in this current era that's good enough to win with and worth a $50M contract. There are only like 4 Tier-1 QBs in the league, those are guys who can ball out regardless of system or supporting cast.

Every year we see a Tier-2 guy go on a hot streak and play MVP-caliber Tier-1 ball (Baker and Maye this year, Purdy and Tua 2 years ago, etc) and their stans overreact and say they're permanent Tier-1 guys and their haters overreact and say they're actually Tier-3 bums and don't deserve credit for how they're playing. Meanwhile actual Tier-3 guys will go on a hot streak and play Tier-2 ball (Daniel Jones this year, Geno and Darnold last year) and people use that as evidence for why you shouldn't pay the Tier-2 guy.

But the difference between the Tier-2 guy and the Tier-3 guy is that the former can be a stable franchise leader and contend for SBs, which is why teams lock them down when they have a good, stable offensive system in place. Otherwise you're riding the QB carousel and hoping you get Tier-1 play from a dice roll rookie (terrible track record) or hoping the Tier-3 QB can play the Tier-1 ball your Tier-2 QB has shown in the past they can provide. Smart teams value stability in the front office, coaching room and QB position. Fans in this social media ADHD era demand heads immediately for stupid reasons. The contracts money doesn't make a difference in this fugazi cap era.

my thing that confused me sometimes if Purdy not perfect for one game, to some folks he trash or not worth the money or needs to be benched.

but when Lamar disappears on every big game, chokes….. or has no TDs in the last 3 games no one says nothing

how you have 1 TD and 7 turnovers in the last 4 games but no one questioning if your contract worth it or what tier you belong on?

There are too many haters and stans in sports discourse now, so people are just trying to get their hot takes off. But the real answer is longevity. Lamar has 2x MVPs and 3x First-Team All Pros, so even if he does have a stinker slump he still has a 7-season resume of Tier 1 play to fall back on. The younger guys don't have that. Mahomes lowkey has been playing Tier-2 ball for the past few years but he has 5-seasons worth of goated play so he's pretty much untouchable. It is what it is. People are just too quick to give up on young QBs figuring it out, which is why they have these stupid whiplash takes where one game a guy is an elite future-goat and the next game he's a bum who should be benched. If social media was around back in the day these same guys would be saying the same stupid shyt about a ton of HOF QBs.

Purdy is on his 40th start with 70 TDs and 32 ints. At their 40th starts, Peyton Manning had 70 TDs and 52 ints, Brady had 57 TDs and 34 ints, Brees had 51 TDs and 37 ints, Roethlisberger had 50 TDs and 41 ints. Mahomes being a unicorn who dominated basically immediately has destroyed people's perception of normal QB development.

Not a good comparison. Pulling stats like that seems like some espn shyt. Purdy aint did shyt to be compared to HoF level players.
Hasnt shown some crazy arm talent, not some great football iq, etc.

You know you down bad when you gotta start talking about "on start number 40 these qbs..." to justify someone being trash currently

Is throwing interceptions a good or bad thing related to football IQ? Is a QB-INT ratio and QB rating related to good quarterbacking play or no? If we can't use stats then all we're left with is "trust me, he has a really good" with a whole load of bias baked in.

None of the QBs I mentioned were being fitted for their gold jackets by the 40th start, which is why Brees said you need 50 starts from a QB before you can form a solid opinion. But social-media brained modern sports fans are gagging to make final career judgments on guys in the first few seasons of their career. CJ Stroud was a young GOAT but now he's trash, Caleb Williams was a bust but now he's a future MVP. It's a tiresome way to analyze sports. :coffee:

Comparing raw QB numbers from different eras is foolish. The post 2010 QB will always have the advantage.over the QBs who came before. Guys like Teddy Bridgewater have a batter career passer rating than Dan Marino. Is that a product of play or era? There are stats that are era adjusted that can be used like... ANY/A, DVOA and DYAR. But raw numbers will almost always favor the more modern QB

Taking shots out Purdy while we got QBs who coli thinks is elite in 4 weeks throwing 1 TD pass and 7 turnovers is crazy too

but the world is upside down now
