Having control means they can bring bills up for discussion which is a lot better position then what they were in. Does that mean they will get everything passed ? NahWasn't that why they were asking to get control in the first place?

a lot of the same components of the HEROES ACT is in Bidens wishlist, extending unemployment, $15 min Wage, etc, $2k checks...

A lower price tag than the original $3.4 trillion dollar price tag that came along with the Heroes Act.
I have a problem in general with being referred to as "Heroes" and "Essential workers" in the first place because how do you determined what's considered essential/non-essential. It created this unrealistic expectation in a lot of peoples minds that their job was more important than others.
I'm not doing this today. have fun my guy

But the plan that Biden is bringing up now isn't the Heroes Act nor will be the same price tag as the one they mentioned they originally couldn't pass.
The plan is Biden's plan, we all know it will go through legislation and changes will be made for better or worse. This entire thread is idiotic for a number of reason.
Because people are looking at the bigger picture of OP point. Politics in general refers to overpromising and not delivering on your talking points. Whether that being they were unrealistic in the first place or knowing that you couldn't fully deliver on them. So why do politicians get a pass on those things from people, but those same people will break up a family or friend if they make a promise and don't fully deliver on theirs?
Wasn't that why they were asking to get control in the first place?
I added the word absolute to imply a super majority, aka fukk you power.
in the previous page I went over the difference a majority vs. a super majority and it’s implications.
I read ya previous post and yeah I agree, 100% dems over promise and under deliver, welcome to the club.
they offer me $5 and give me $3. Those are my expectations.
With that said I feel a lot of both sliders are like cacs when they fine out Santa clause isn’t real, their finally catching on to what adults knew all along. People over promise, under deliver, and are fundamentally flawed. I personally hate absolutism in any sense, and perfection is the enemy of good.
they don't but anyone over the age of 25 should understand at this point we need to be pragmatic about politics in this country. They promise 10, deliver 8, we expect 5. Thats just how shyt is. Now this is thrown in a flux because of the utterly degenerate nature of the GOP where they promise 0, deliver 0, and we somehow are expecting 5 still? it makes no sense to die on this hill that the big bad democrats are the same.
On that other point that's just your own perspective. You would have to provide a more concrete example of w/e youre talking about because I'm not too well versed in this family breaker promise thats floating around .
I'm not referring to both siders in general. I'm more so speaking on the concept of politics in general where people make excuses for a why a politician can't keep their word on what they said they would do, but will get angry, furious and ready to end a friendship/family when said person can't keep theirs.
probably because it’s a lot more realistic to end a relationship with one person than it is to hold an individual accountable that has to weigh the pros/cons on just just you, but hundreds of millions of people (assuming we are talking about the president).
They’re not in power until Tuesday. Literally no one who’s been elected has been sworn in.DEMS HAVE POWER NOW
SO WHY ARENT THEY PASSING THAT?
YOU KNOW THE ONE
THAT WAS GONNA GIVE ESSENTIAL WORKERS HAZARD PAY...
THE ONE WITH
THE 600 DOLLAR UMEMPLOYMENT
BENEFITS THAT HELD UP THE CURRENT
STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR MONTHS...
THE ONE THAT THEY NEVER
WANTED TO PASS BUT ONLY
DID BECAUSE THEY KNEW
THE REPUBLICANS WOULD BLOCK IT.
INTERESTING....
