If Pop can play and develop a rookie then what's Doc's excuse:what::snoop:

You have to have draft picks to get young players to develop :russ:

Doc doesn't value late first rounders at all. Shyt, the Clippers gave away a first rounder in order to get Doc in the first place.

Dude decided to give minutes to a 36 year old Hedo Turkoglu instead of letting CJ Wilcox get some burn.

Even then I guess the only player he's been able to pick so far that could become a decent piece is Brice Johnson, and dude is hurt.

I think it is pretty much set in stone that...

Mills is gone after this year...

Next year Parker starts and Dejounte is the backup and depending on how Dejounte plays he eats into Parkers minutes, kinda like how dedmon does pau now in crunch time...

Next year Forbes gets the minutes Dejounte is getting now...

After next season Parkers contract is up and lets just hope he retires or the front office quietly pushes him out the door...

Dejounte is the starting point guard

Forbes is the backup point guard

I don't ever see Forbes being a legit two guard for us...he only has been lately cause manu and simmons have been out...at 6 "3" he is just to small and the front office has made it a point recently to get larger on the perimeter (kawhi, simmons, starting anderson at the 2 guard to start the season, etc)

If I had my way we would trade mills now just to give dejounte his minutes...his play style is going to lead to some ugly games so it's just a matter of when you want to get them out of the way with...

Kyle has played just well enough the last few games to stay on the team but dude is never going to be anything more than the 13th man on the roster...

Kyle actually might end being more defensive X factor then we think his length has been a terror to teams I notice and he can play point at times if needed
Think he set here if he can stay aggressive and keep at his offense he will be a huge factor

He has caused issues to both Toronto and cavs with his length and his defense has improved more than expected
Think pop notice that also

Not buying it.

We already get one player on the team who hardly ever makes an aggressive move to shoot the ball in green...we can't have two of them...

He only so aggressive now cause we've had 5 guys out with injury...as they slowly come back he is slowly going to be back to sitting on the bench...

Timmy retired and people thought the Spurs were gonna go quietly into the night, but...

I don't think anybody thought that. He wasn't playing much last year anyway and was a shell of himself.

You say Murray would get washed by Harden but i mean....Harden washing EVERYBODY and plus he wouldnt guard Harden, that would be DG and Kawhi's assignment. Parker should be coming off the bench but we cant have him and Manu in our second unit, we'd get KILLED defensively and wont have that scoring punch or athleticism in the back court

I know Kawhi would guard Harden, but acting like he would give you a better chance to beat the Rockets as the starting point guard over Tony Parker is too much, he's not ready.

A fast paced team like Golden State or Houston is his worst enemy right now. He looked good against Denver but they're poor defensively.

The Brooklyn game brought out some more of his weaknesses, you can tell he will struggle against these fast paced teams that are good defensively too.

Well he is a rookie getting his first extended stint of PT, he gonna have his ups and downs. The issue us Spurs fans have with Parker is that he still has hero ball tendencies and that had KILLED us the last few post seasons. That time for him has passed but he hasnt accepted it. Our title hopes doesnt rest on Murray or TP, but the more Murray plays extended minutes, the better the Spurs overall will be in the long term this year.

He sucks defensively
Cant penetrate like he use to
Mid range game is kinda :flabbynsick: now

I'm not DISAGREEING with you, i just prefer us to slowly phase TP out.

I'm all for him getting some playing time now, but in response to the original post I quoted, I definitely don't agree that in order to beat Houston or Golden State the Spurs have to have Murray as their PG (Which you also agree).

Murray is still pretty raw defensively, but yeah at least he has the tools to keep his man in front of him which is something Tony doesn't have anymore. I think defense is the only thing Tony lacks that Murray can provide this year.

He's a good finisher but he's going to struggle still until he's done adding weight, his handle is a little loose but nothing too bad he should be fine getting to the rim. He does have a great 1st step though, but he's not really explosive after that.
