I need someone to explain to me how Alex Smith is a problem again.

:stopitslime:

Uneducated sports fans always put labels on people who aren't the golden boys.

Alex will always be a game manager to the dummies, it's easier for them to understand the game that way. Their fantasy football driven minds don't understand the game

he is a game manager though, and there's nothing wrong with that...cause that's what you want your qb to be...the problem with smith is that he cant make that throw/play when you need it...

You're right, he just isn't a "Game manager" in the way the term has become demonized.

And yes he has proven he can make the throw and play when you need it, the Saints game is a great indicator of that. Today is a good indicator of that too.

if that was true, he'd be in san fran right now and not kc...the guy needs everything going his way in the game for him to have the confidence to throw the ball over 10 yds...even though he's playing good today, he still hasn't shown that confidence...ex: the end of the half - 2 timeouts, ball on the colts 45, 20 secs to go, and you get no points....all you needed was 15-20 yds to get at least a fg....and he checked down to the rb for a 3 yd gain and a kneel down

The defense was worse, but Smith showed flashes of why he is who he is.

Right before the half they were at or near Colts territory up 21 points and he checks it down twice and kneels.

misses on what should have been the game clinching TD down the sideline.

you can't screen and dump off your way to victory in the playoffs. Eventually you gotta challenge with some throws 10+ yards down the field.

@LastEmperor2k2

see what I mean?...man was wide open and he couldn't make the throw...

4 td's and 1 pick isn't simply game managing my friend.

If you can't hold a team under 44 points, you can't put the L on the QB. And sure he did miss a big possible TD, but that last pass was right on point and Bowe didn't come down with it either.

It was a complete failure, but I`d say this one is on Reid.
