It’s hard to get into a lot of this new shyt but let me try to post some of my “personal classics” over the past few years
I could post a bunch of Miguel songs but I won’t.. he’s one of my favorites
they came out in the wrong era. I feel like the Hive Mind album would’ve been one of the biggest in r&b if it came out a few years before it did.

I love Jillian Hervey(Lion Babe)I wish she was one of the biggest stars in music but it is what it is.
I mean even this album was great. They didn’t try all hard to fit in with the current sound and stuff and kept it grown folks. I just think people forget about or don’t even know all this great music exists. I’ll just leave the post here
This! The Trap movement is STRONGEveryone says that but the great shyt flops
Nah, folks ain't supportin' the better producers. The producers of today can barely read unless it is for a vape ingredient. But making real music built on music theory and not chopping up 90s samples? Nah...
R&B is trash in 2020
I think it's reversed. Labels push what they want heard, folks pick from it what they like, then labels push more of it.The labels push what people want. If they wanted real rnb they would market it.

There’s a whole lot of really GOOD R&B out there right now but it’s just not poppin like some of the more mainstream R&B vibes

Lol at posting Jon B like he hasn't been in the game for 25 years. The "R&B is back" brigade doesn't get to claim him![]()

Exactly. The "labels" react to what the market desires.
The "soul" culture of musicianship, coming out the black church and the entire community, began dying over 30 years ago. That's when black bands and groups started to fade.
Meanwhile, 50/60 years ago, the community was literally exploding with rich talent and creativity.
Berry Gordy simply captured in his company what was already happening around him everyday.
